Hi All this is my first post, I have just bought a 1977 Series 3 Carmichael Redwing some of you may have seen it in classic land rover monthly a couple of years ago ex Guernsey fire service,anyway the test drive went fine i drove it back from Linconshire to Sussex with only one problem on the last stop before the m25 when i pulled into the services i changed down into 3 rd gear and it would not come out of gear after a hard yank it went into 2nd then it would not come out of that gear then it seemed to kangaroo hop like it was in to high a gear for such a low speed anyway i made it home the clutch pedal seemed very slack so i changed the slave and master cylinders all seemed well on a short test drive until today now its back to the same but also it jumps out of 3 gear if you hold it in its fine but hit any pot hole and it jumps out same in 2nd gear 1st and 4th seem fine and when you change from 4th into 3rd its sticks again and its a total bug*er to get into 2nd any ideas is this a cluch or gear box problem? its done 47,500miles from new.
