  1. Thanks, However I would really rather not go down that route though, I pride myself on my honesty and it is the one big value I push onto my children, the above would not fit with that and would technicaly be theft which I would not want to do. I know they are big business etc and they screw us every day, but theft would make me no better than them, or the scrote that nicks the shiny bits off your pride and joy.

I have allready obtained a new rubber as last time they changed it it looked flakey, I am off ill at the moment but when I get better will nip down and speak to the autoglass people and see what can be done, I will update when I know.

    Cheers, Jason.

Good for you - a rare quality these days !

  2. it's a simple job. the only hard part is how well you line up the two opposite windows.

i've gotten this job done on mine. basically, it's just cut the hole and then place the windows, dril the rivert hole and pop in the riverts.

i've gotten the 110 utility windows on my 90. (aka the fixed glass, not the 2 piece sliding)

both are the same way to install.

I marked up the outside of each panel, drilled the corner witha 1/2 drill bit and then used a compressed air nibbler to go around the marked area. then offered up the window, drilled the holes for the rivet holes, then once all aligned, put mastic around teh frame, offered up and riveted it in. The internal strut you refer to was removed by grinding the heads of the rivets on the top and bottom inside.

If you want dimensions then I have a driver side rear panel in white sans windows if your interested

  3. I have just picked up a 50th anniversary :)

But I have a couple of issues which I need tofix, one of which is the fuel gauge needle is moving all over the place (obviously depending on where the fuel is sloshing around in the tank). I always thought there was something in the 'in tank pump' which helped to prevent this?

Is there a specific item I should be looking at - or is it a case of a new tank sender unit :(

    Jerry

ok lets try a different question! DOes the td5 fuel gauge move around a lot or is it fairly stable on a 90 as I believe the fillers and tanks are in teh same place!

  5. It was even better than last time IMHO - I think they split up the agricultural bit from the LR bit a bit better - although both were interesting

Got a couple of bits and pieces - but for the life of me cant remember what they were

The old burger van had run out of burgers by 3.00 - Which one of you lot ate all the burgers !!!

Generally my destination of choice, and certainly cant be bothered to venture any further (eg Beaulieu or Peterborough)

    Good day out!

  6. If anybody is interested in a basic but cheap sat nav - take a look at the below - its out of stock right now but keep looking - I bought one last week £29 selected el cheapo delivery and it arrived the next day all for an extra £2!!!

Used it for a couple of days now in the defender - they seem to come in and out of stock every other day or so - but don't last long:

I haven't posted in the for sale as I'm not selling them - this is more of an FYI for fellow forum users.... if mods feel it should be in for sale then please feel free to move & sorry !.

  7. We've had about 3-inches of snow in Swindon. Another 50-feet or so would be good - the whole place would disappear at least for a while :)

Still - peoples inexperience with driving on ice and snow is having some benefit. Bent steering components from cars hitting the kerb.

    Les.

damn - that means no delivery for eurocarparts swindon again today - (nazi go-kart awaits new fuel pump)

Oh well 90" of fun again today - the wife will be pleased.....

  8. I've seen more checkererplate on a vehicle...

    post-21-1233186920_thumb.jpg

there is something perverse about that picture, a beautifully designed historic building (gawd knows where it is mind you) with a chequerplate box on wheels dumped outside.......now if it was a classic rr or a nice series then fair enough ....

ok I'll get my coat :P

  9. Couldn't do the pizza/taxi as it's punishing the pizza/taxi company as it's only them it will cost - but double glazing is another matter as they are always pestering me. I had a call at five to ten at night a few nights ago from SafeStyle

That's just wierd, and I really don't want to ask any question :lol:

Car now relisted on ebay, I found out I could get the listing fee back if I wait until the dispute is fully over (can't even start a dispute for 7 days) but you only get the listing fee back if it sells successfully the second time.

Fingers crossed I don't get another time waster

    good luck ! -

FWIW I agree ref taxi & pizza, but double glazing & kitchens salesmen - they are the scum of the earth anyway.

  10. And if they don't you charge them for storage, and sue them for that as well!

The problem with all of these things is when you go to register under the small claims court you need to have the FULL address details of the buyer - now if you ask for contact details via ebay you don't get the full address details, and quite often what you get is complete BS. So then you go and ask ebay for the full address details as you wish to log a case with the small claims court - generally (twice now in my experience) your met with a wall of silence - apart from their desire to perhaps remove any bad feedback you may have received from the buyer (to which you are unable to respond under their daft new rules).

SO, basically, go for the final value credit and re advertise thru conventional methods or if you must use ebay insist all bids will be cancelled unless the bidder has come to see the car first - that way you can get more proof of their details because you will want to see their insurance - which will have their address on it because youwouldnt go to see a car without driving it would you? That way you get maximum exposure, and can qualify serious bidders in or out as appropriate.

Hope this helps you for the issue you have now, but don't worry long term as ebay as we know it will not be around imho within 5-10 years (they are trying to offload that magical purchase (Skype) for a fraction of the billions they paid for it, so assuming an average car ownership of 3-5 years - you may only have this pain another 2-3 times

  11. Thanks Tom however did that this morning and still have the vibration, so maybe the centre diff? I reckon I'll change the xfer box at this stage.

to answer your original question - i had a similar thing, uncle les pointed me to the rear output shaft and housing - i happened to have a spare and yes it fixed the problem. The other day I was lookibng at said shaft i removed - and rolled it along the edge of a table - and yep sure enough the shaft was bent :o

I also had another vibration - but when I went underneath to check the play in the output shafts they seemed ok when cold, but after a run and they were hot I could grab the front prop and saw movement, so I changed the front output shaft and bearing anyway - and this made a big difference
