Hi can anyone help me i have a p-reg 300 tdi auto disco the auto box went faulty so i have converted it to manual, does anyone know how to bypass the inhibitor switch which stops u starting it in gear. There are 4 wires on the plug which come off the auto box 2 were green with different couloured traces in them and 2 blacks with differnt colour trace in them. i think these are the wires for it but not sure can anyone help regards paul

Same thing happend to my 200tdi tried everthing got fuel to injector pump took stop out fuel comeing out of there but still wouldnt start. injector pump had gone took timing belt off and front of pump was loose i took pump apart the shaft had snaped inside ended up putting second hand pump on it now running fine :P

    to understand it a bit better and do the opposite since these threads are all about increasing performance and it sounds like you want to back it off a bit. The alterations you mention require turning the diaphragm and/or starwheel and/or max fuel screw anticlockwise. I would start with the cone on the diaphragm and the starwheel and leave the max fuel screw alone for now and see if that has the desired effect.

    I altered the fuel screw on the back of the pump ages ago and couldnt remember which way i turned it to up fuel. It smokes quite a bit and mot is comeing up so need to sort it

  4. Also i went to landrover for a genuine bearing and oil seal instead of buying cheap rubish the cheaky ba****ds tried selling me britpart stuff a genuine landrover prices

    i got the bearing from a bearing stockest in hull common bearing fits alsorts of things

    bearing is a 6207 £13.40 (landrover wanted £36.45 for britpart)

    oil seal is ftc4939 £2.49 + vat and postage from britpart (landrover wanted £8.98 for same make)

Hi which way do you turn the screw on the back of a 300tdi injector pump to weaken the mixture. also i was told if you take the 4 screws out of the plate on top of the injector pump there is a wheel under it which you can turn to give it a bit more power which way do you turn this and how much do you turn it. thanks for any help you

  6. I have a 110 csw g-reg with a 300tdi and r380 gearbox in. There is some play on the front propshaft output(can get hold of prop near transfer box and move it up and down) flange on the transfer box which is causeing it to leak a bit of oil. cn this play be adjusted out of this easly any help would be grateful :rolleyes::D

  7. my 200tdi disco has started to rattle badly when hot (metalic noise like a worn camshaft) it doesnt do it when cold i run it on used vegetable oil which is heated . I have recently bought a 300 tdi disco, i have twin tanked this one so it starts on diesel and turns over to veggie oil when warm. This one has developed the same rattle when hot. Do you think this is caused by running on veggie oil or just coinsidence. I have changed the injectors in the 200tdi which made no difference. Does any one know what it is. Plenty of people have run these discos on veggie oil with no problems. :(:(
