  1. I was wondering whether you can all help. 02 TD4 Freelander 3 dr A while back after a fairly long drive I stopped for Diesel, but then when I went to restart the car would turnover but not fire. Eventually the RAC came out and after a short period of checking the mechanic said that the lift pump was at fault, (cylindrical container on right side of engine bay mid way down), and sure enoughh when he gave it a bang the car fired up and we were on our way. This has now happened a few times, and sure enough every time you get out and bang the pump you are on your way! I've now decided it's time to fix it properly and would suspect that this would be a fairly easy DIY job - would anyone agree? Also where's the best place to get the bits - of course I could go to the local LR dealer but I'm sure there must be somewhere online or perhaps local, (live in Woking in Surrey), where I can beat LR prices - any suggestions? Also, (typical), the clutch isstarting to slip, (way beyond my capabilities!), where do you reckon would be the best place to get this done; again being cost sensitive. Appreciate any thoughts you may have. Gary
