hi can anyone help me out with some info on oil my handbook says to use an engine oil of 5/40 or 5/50.would ther be a problem for example of using a 5/30 and would it have any adverse effect on the engine many thanks mick

hi can anyone shed any light into the great mystery of engine oil.the disco hand book quotes a 5/40 or a 5/50.would ther be a problem using a5/30 for example and would it have any dettremental effect to the engine.hope this is not to much of a dumb question to ask but would appreciate any advice many thanks mick
