My 52 plate Defender is playing up! 12 months ago I had issues with engine staring ok, but no revs when put in gear. My local (40 miles away) independent Landy specialist, replaced the throttle pedal and tidied up up the wiring around the ecu and that seemed to resolve the problem. Now I have a slightly different issue with engine staring ok but just not revving. My local (2 miles away!) garage have run the diagnostics which initially cleared the problem but then it returned a few days later. They are suggesting only answer is replace the ECU - 1. Is there anyway that I can confirm it is definitely the ecu? 2. Second hand parts seem scarce 3. Also there seems to be an issue with compatibilty on NNN v MSB codes for vehicles of the age Any advice would be much appreciated cheers Andy

Took my 52 plate TD5 Defender for MOT recently. Whilst at local garage engine light came on - cleared this but then engine would not rev. Got them to replace the switch on the clutch master cylinder but problem persists! Any clues would be much appreciated Thanks Andy
