  1. Some real nice Rangies on here, so I thought I would show you mine.

All the way from the convict colonies. :D

The green one is currently stripped ready for a bob tail chop. But I'm a bit nervous, as I have never done a chop before, don't want to stuff it up.

  2. Standard tyres are 205/16 in 80% profile (they just never write the 80 on for some reason.) There are some useful online calculators that allow you to work out the speed changes if you change tyres sizes. Try

    http://www.alloywheels.com/TyreCalc.asp

    or

    http://www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html

Best answer though is to get a TomTom sat nav and set it to show speed. I know that running standard tyres mine is showing 64 on the dash at a true 60 mph.

Does anyone know of one of these converters that uses imperial sizes.

    I have upgrades from 225/75 x 16 to 35 x 12.5 x 15 and have no idea what speed I am doing.

  3. I have toyed with the idea of running veg oil and occasionally propane, as propane is supposed to promote a complete burn and increase timing slightly which I understand is a good idea if running veg oil anyway. So has anyone ran these together? It seems like they might be good together.

This is quite a common conversion in Australia, well diesel and propane.

    You only add 20% propane/80% diesel,veg oil.

The conversions cost about $4500 installed, but our govt gives a $2000 rebate because the cleaner burning produces less emmissions.

Apparently, depending to who you talk to, you get up to 40% increase in power and torque.

I know of one semi (truck) who rund a Cat c15 550hp and put it on gas and it now dynos at 600hp.

  4. If you want to use it front and back, make up a cradle to mount it to

then attach it to your vehicles recovery points (not the tie down points)

with high tensile chain or cable similar to that on the winch.

MAKE SURE WHAT EVER YOU USE IS "RATED" TO HANDLE THE STRENGTH

    OF THE WINCHES PULLING POWER.

That way you and onlookers won't get hurt.

You can stow it in the vehicle and when you want it, attach it like you would a

    snatch strap or similar.
