Nige
carp! My Nick can make 30 in a day

No, mine are.
Just making the point that suspension arms need to be able to survive sideways abuse from rocks and stuff, not just along the axis.
Tim, very interesting you went for the 7075 aluminium, which one, 7075-5, 7075-T6, 7075-T651?
Be interested to know which one you chose.
-
Tim, are you saying Jim's arms are made of T45 or 7075 aluminium?
-
Not my place to tell everyone what the spec is - if Jim wants to impart the information that's fine. You would have to ask him.
And presumably Simon about his?

Well pointed out Mr Highway!
Anyone got a torque wrench calibrated in lbf in?
The actual conversion is 6 lbf ft so Ashcroft ar close enough.
I must get some glasses!

OK it's morning now.
Kickdown, low and reverse band adjustment.
Having removed the sump (drain oil, disconnect battery, chock wheels, wear support tights etc) the low and reverse adjusters are visible on the end of the actuators.
The kickdown adjuster is on the left hand side of the gearbox (outside) above the kickdown mechanism.
Adjustment for all three is the same, slacken locknut and loosen the adjuster screw. Tighten the adjuster screw to 10 lbf (NOT the 72 lbf recommended by Haynes!)
then slacken by 1 1/4 turns, tighten locknut.
-
I did mine some years ago, I know the Haynes book of lies is maintaining it's reputation giving a figure high enough to trash the gearbox!
On that occasion I telephoned Ashcroft, I believe I wrote the correct figure in the manual. I'll have a look in the morning.

Al, two comments-
I can't believe a plasma needs that volume of air, my Air Liquide 215 15mm cut 3 phase machine has run off a 2 HP single phase compressor with no issues at all.
How much air flow can you get through a 1.5mm hole?
If you do need a larger compressor then I would suggest you look at a Hydrovane which is the ideal tool to supply high CFM.

Bu&&er me!
Is there a dress code for this ritual?
Thanks for the info.
-
Yes, single button early 300 tdi.
-
Does anyone know how to pair a single button remote to the central locking ecu?
-
I remember, stainless tube, set of alloy rims with tyres, couple of lengths of studding and hey presto float across the sand!

Thanks Nige, now I don't look quite as much the w****r I did!
Now, what was this thread about?
-
You were only directing him back to his own topic which he referred to anyway
That is precisely what I mean!
Mr PINT started a new thread to which I replied which has been tagged onto this thread and become post #24 by an interfering moderator who I believe to be Mr Hell!
Come on Nige, explain before I start to look like like a candidate for alzheimer's!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Mods merging topics now? with no explanation takes my post out of context!
Nige, a note to explain would be good.

Vehicle Wiring Products sell them, they're junior timer connectors I think.

Picked from Devon forum:
1. Thomas Shuker - Jasmin Mool
2. Herald Seeyfried - Gerald Haidinger
3. James Marsden - Chris Abel
So Jim and Chris got third and the winning team only had two testie!

Your Dead right there Adrian ! it got killed from the start, never mind A.
Please explain? You had a full entry list.
The natural response here would be to blame Scor***n and you don't seem too bothered!

Shoot your photographer, the pics on your site do no justice for your product

Hope Paul and Nick at the Forge are not listening, bit of a bargain there
Got one.
Well done Charles!

I've been running it now for a couple of weeks and it seems like it has dropped down in volume a little.

Nige, I had the same problem with my last vehicle (Piggy) and as has been said, if you protect the lens sufficiently you will suffer
even more body damage. Buy lenses in bulk, a few lamp units and lots of bulbs, it's cheaper in the long run.
The truck I'm not building will have well recessed led lights with side markers and repeaters.
