  1. You couldn't find this?

    http://forums.lr4x4.com/index.php?s=&s...ost&p=67243

Start with the index, search in page for 'ABS' -there's only 3 links.

ok got the link cheers am but not sure on the wiring have taken out the relay and the light goes out on the notes its says it should stay on? also wiring the diagnostic connector do i wire up the four wires black/pink white/pink both to the ecu and then connect them to earth  but still worried what to do as the light goes out when the relay is taken off ????any ideas

  2. Forgot to add do anyone perfer 200 or 300 tdi? My 200tdi needs welding as stated above, but the rear box part on the body not chassis need replacing and I seen 1 on e bay but at £130! Can I get 1 cheaper? If so do you know where from please, I would plate it but it already been plated and underside is not there just a pair of body mounts

The 300tdi is not running well it only starts with a bump, and there no power when you press the pedal, From what I have been reading on your forum, it mostly states the fuel lift is at fault. Do you still think that is right? The last owner was told it could be the relay? What do you think to that?

Also there is a wobble on the front wheel I take that is 1, the wheel bearing or 2, it the swivel pin/bearing gone on that, could it be anything else?

    sorry for going on,

    Regards JJ

i use this company called fenland rover its a breakers but he's cheap well, i think so and has always been helpfull so here the number he also has an ebay shop 01354742392

  3. Having just read the thread i think we're just going to have to except that new landrovers are going to be less of a bodge it solution and more of a pain in the backside to fix. It'll be less time with the hammer and spanner and more time on a tester or lap top sorting things out. Failing that we'll just keep using the lap top to moan about the things we love, because thing are getting newer and we are getting older. When i can aford it i'll get a d3 and live with the moaning, spanner rash and smashed tea cups when things go wrong. Thing will get cheaper as people start breaking then as well and technology catches up. But what do i know lol

  4. just tried earthing out my abs to turn out the light, I now have a flashing engine warning light. 5. --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    Hi

I am wondering if any of you guys, ( & gals) out there could help me in a little/big problem i have.

A week ago, my partner water logged my freelander in a pond of water. Hard to believe, because i am in southern italy, and we are meant to have sunshine all the time. The water level came to above the front bumper, and internally to the level of the seats, and this was whislt driving on tarmac!!!!!!!!!!

What happened was, graham drove around the corner in the dark, and straight into this flooded road that was like a pond. The fl died in the water. Back window came down and the internal lights stayed on. As you can tell it turned into a sitting duck. Luckily we we able to push it out and tow it to our drive.

It has spent the last week with an external heater inside it, it has been vaccumed out.( we took over 100l of water out). We have hairdried all the electrical component we could see, and cover them all with wd40. We have replaced all the spark plugs and have re- charged the battery.

The current state of play is:-

The back window is still down and we are unable to open the back/boot door.

The indicators don't work, internal dash board light comes on but nothing from the indicator lights.

The immobilser light that was currently on all the time, no longer comes on. And the remote locking system doesn't work. Centeral locking doesn't work. But the windows in the front and sunroof do work, along with the Wing mirrors.

The engine doesn't fire up, but turns over and does kind of attempt. But i have just been told, doesn't even attempt that now.

    The horn doesn't work.

Could people give me some suggestions as where to go next, i may have a feeling it has something to do with the alarm system/immobiliser system.

We have taken out the abs webco and dried and wd40-ed too.

I need help, as i need it for work.

    Thanking you in advance

    Gill.

p.s. My only wish is that it was a series 111, and we could have solved it!!!

  6. 2001 or 2006,

this toe rag has been ripping us off since before 1960 with the rates of road tax.

Any one noticed that oil per barrel is as cheap as it was 10 years ago.

Done a quick calculation, allowing for tax increases, diesel should really be 60p or less per litre right now at the pump.

Why is it still hiked up.

Guess the middle men are making a killing.

i'm with you there, i think they're taking the pee pee out of us road user's but it's one big cartel if you ask me

  7. I'm fairly sure that your system is the same as fitted to the Rand Rover Classics, if so, there is a thread in the Tech Archive about fault finding and resetting...

It's a case of shorting one pin to earth and letting the ECU perform it's fault process (flashing the ABS light on the dash) until all of the faults are clear.

    HTH

    Adrian

cheers will give it a go when i get back to work merry christmas

  8. well everone thank's for the help on my brakes it turned out to be the vacume pump. However i still have my abs light on now and i don't know where to start? Some one has said to me to pull off the connectors on the senser on each wheel and short it out one at a time and see if the light goes out. fist does this sound right and has anyone got a better ideas before I take it to the garage and get hammered like the last time it came on. After all i'll be skint after christmas lol. ps it's a 300tdi disco MERRY CHRISTMAS ALL ;)

  9. have sorted outthe brakes but still no joy on the pedal i also have cruise control and have tried both the hole but none actuually touch the switches so now back to square on if the pedal is broken how do you tell ??? it all seem to work fine when not connected to the servo and move all the way  cheers for the replys

  10. cheers everybody have sorted the brakes out but still have a problem with the pedal not sitting on the stops but one thing at a time. also the abs light is on now theres always next week once again cheers

  11. i just changed the brake servo on my disco to try and change ny hard braking problems. however this has not solved the promblem so going to check all the brake cylinders on the wheels. however during changing the servo i've come across my break pedal not reching the stop at the end my question is are break servos different in 300tdi auto with cruise control than a manual and would a 200 tdi servo fit any help appreciated. as at the momment my brake lights stay on :( also does anyone know of a good place down plymouth way to take a landrover as need abs resetting cheers cooney ;)
