  1. Hello again. The head hasn't been skimmed. The timing chain marks line up. Originally the sump was filling up with diesel and we found a crack in one of the injector holes. Also, we had some work done at a garage but had a disagreement with the man over his extremely inflated price. Funnily enough, a little while later one of the cam bolts worked loose, came out and cracked the front of the head, dropped down and broke the oil pump chain! We heard this happen and literally drove round the corner and parked it on our drive. We left the car standing for a while (months) and it started up and there was no unusual noises. Thanks for your help so far, it's driving us both mad but unfortunately we cannot afford to put it into landrover.
  2. thanks guys, we've got her going now but its not all good. She has developed a loud tap/knock which wasn't there before. It seems to be coming from the top but it is hard to distinguish. Any ideas anyone?
  3. Spoke to husband re: your reply. He said that he did set the injector rockers up, yes the injectors are the same ones and gone in the same cylinders. He has plugged the harness back in on the head. Sorry being blond, not sure what the cps is, if you could tell me I'll get him to check that as well. It's so bloody frustrating I just wish it would start!
  4. Yes we have purged the system, it has been timed up but will double check tomorrow, it can't be towed because its an auto, thanks for your help so far any more suggestions would be appreciated.
  5. We have just fitted a new cylinder head to our Discovery td5, now it won't start! Any ideas anyone?
