Hi All,
I have just acquired an "alleged" 1958 land rover that has no identifying marks. I am just starting to restore it. It appears to be around 1958 vintage but has no land rover chassis number or vin number. The vin number I think is a New Zealand applied one. I have an engine number - RM0232968. Can this be used to identify anything about the vehicle ?
Also I see that it has a manual clutch, not a hydraulic one, and has series l type door and bonnet fastenings but a series ll front grill and lights that are not on the wings but in front of the radiator. There is only one side light on each of the front wings and similar on the back valence. It is a SWB.
Since I am not sure what to mention let me know if there are other indicators to consider, eg there is only one fuse.
Paul
