Thank you for your advice, Just checked the oil cap and that seems to be clear?

Hi I have recently purchased a freelander 1.8 on a 55plate, with 51,000 miles on the clock, my partner was looking at the coolant tank and noticed a creamy substance round the cap, does anyone have any ideas what it could be? I've only had the car for a week. Your advice would be greatly appreciated
