discotec
Guys and gals I am replacing my gear selector unit today (if it arrives). This looks a straight forward job, sliding the new unit over the gear lever, plugging it in and bolting it down. (obviously removing the old unit first, LOL) The problem I have is that I don't know how you remove the actual gear knob. I am talking AUTO here. I don't want to just untwist it in case that is wrong. There doesn't seem to be any screw, bolt, catch etc, but i am obviously missing something.... or am I? Anyone having done this, I would appreciate the nod as to how this bit is done. Thanks in advance.
michael100
Hello There, First of all, prise of the square cover on the top of the gearknob then remove the circlip immediately in view then remove the spacer under the circlip. Remove the locker button from the side of the gear lever. You will then see a locking clip and a nut, remove these and the gearknob will lift off. Hope that helps. discotec
Do you know, I was thinking that little panel prised out but didn't want to write that in case I looked even more stupid than I feel now! LOL. Magic answer and thanks very much. Top banana.
