Eddy
Hi, Last week i replaced the cilinderhead gasket on my 200 TDI disco. The part nr. off the new gasket was LVB 500220 (the metal type one) Is there somebody who knows if there was a change in the way of placing this kind of gasket ? the original one (ERR 5363)has the following way: torc all bolts to 40 Nm, then 60 ° and again 60°. I heard that , with the metal kind of gasket the remainig M12 long bolts around the cilinders , (10 pieces) should have another 20 ° ? Somebody heard about this ? The reason for this question is that i have a small oil leack on the front of the engine, afther the new gasket was placed. Before i never had a problem there, and yes, the head was skimmed , and new bolts were used, so this is not the problem. Any help or info is welkome.. JimAttrill
The extra 20 deg is the setting for the 300Tdi, but I doubt that it can do harm now that you are fitting a 300Tdi gasket. So long as the bolts are the same size there should be no problems.
