wheelx
Hi The wiring diargam in Haynes work shop manual says that there is a rear wiper relay in a passenger compartment fusebox. There is no such a relay in Haynes relay listing or in the actual fusebox(?). So please, does anyone know, is there a relay for the rear wiper motor, and if there is, where is it? Thanks WX
M&S
You are right about the Haynes manual. But that's no surprise. Don't believe everything it tells you about fuse locations either..but that's another story. Anyway, I've just been out to the Disco and had a look. There is a relay clicking in the passenger compartment fuse box. But I've pulled all 4 of them and the rear wiper still worked, and I could still here the clicking in there. So there is a relay, and it is there somewhere But where, I'm not sure
cipx2
This time is not Haynes fault. Same thing in the workshop manual. But I think there's a reason for that. There are some relays on the fuse box (or should I say fuse panel) that are not serviceable. The relays are soldered to the panel (they have PCB terminals) so they can't be removed (unless desoldered). Since I don't have a D2 I can't figure out which does what. Here are two pics I nicked from fleabay. The black square bits are relays and they are fitted to both sides of the fuse box. Some of them are double (two relays in one box) - like the SIEMENS ones you see in the pics. ...the usual disclaimer, of course ....
wheelx
Thanks. Well, perhaps I will just remove the wiper motor. I am pretty sure that the problem is the motor itself. It is quite easy to test does it work or not... getting it out is a different story (it's -10c outside) . wheelx
