Kipperfeet81
Hi All, Looking for a bit of help here. Up till snow last sunday my 2004 TD4 was working a treat but since then I have had a loss of power and the engine is running really rough. It has since improved slightly but will only rev to 4000 rpm. At first the right hand engine malfunction indicator illuminated when revved hard but this has since stopped. I have changed the air filter today and would have done the oil but it got too cold and started widdle down with sleet. It has got 50k on the clock,so has anybody got an idea what is wrong with it? jules
Check the all the turbo hoses and the turbo regulator valve (I can't remember its proper name) its common on the Td4's both result in reduced power

Dave We had similar problems a few weeks ago. Opening up the throttle led to rough running and engine warning light coming on. Took it to an autologic diagnostic place, can work with live data not just error codes and they diagnosed a low pressure pump not delivering enough to HP pump under load/ higher revs. Had noticed also a lower pitched whine coming from the rear pump so it confirmed the audible symptoms. ...one last thought, not sure if the weather is cold enough but if diesel is freezing in the filter feed pipes it will depsite crystals in the filter prodcuing a similar resullt due to partial blockage of the filter.
