TD5 fuel pump / filter head (air in the fuel).

Hello. I have a problem with a TD5 powered Wildcat racer. It has stood for a few months and when we tried to start it, the fuel pump was making screaching noises and we could hear air going through the fuel filter / lines etc. during priming. It took 3 or 4 attempts to clear the air before the engine would start, and then the fuel pump sounded normal.

We checked for leaky pipes. Checked filter head. Checked all connections. Still getting air in to filter within 10 minutes or so of stopping engine.

Changed fuel pump - Genuine Land Rover Part, but still air in system.

Changed Filter head and all pipes - new take off, still air in system.

Changed pressure regulator on block - still air in system.

In the filter head on the return of the high pressure side there is a silicone one way valve, which appears to be good. On the breather back to the tank, there is a little valve that allows air, but not fuel to return to the tank. We have removed this and it clears the air quicker, but it's still got air in.

Has anyone encountered this problem or have any advice on what to look for? :(
