cipx2 Posted November 3, 2009 Share Posted November 3, 2009 First thing to consider is that you'd have to re-register your vehicle as a 7 seater (V5, insurance and all). Unless you want to use the extra seats off the public roads. You can have the extra seats on the public roads no problem, the issue starts when you have more people in the vehicle than max number on the V5 or you have less than 5 people in but 1 or 2 are seated on the rear seats and you're involved in an accident. Apart from seats and seat belts, you'd have to change the interior rear side trim as well. There are also other small bits but you can do without them (different carpet etc). Some people here wanted to get rid of the rear seats so you might find the parts needed or do an exchange with someone. Or go to a scrap yard, find a matching D2 with forward facing rear seats and make the change on the spot. As for the cost, don't even think to get new parts from a dealer. It would be way cheaper to sell your 5 seater and get a (newer) 7 seater. For used part prices do a search on the net (ebay included) and you'll get an idea of the price. Or phone a scrap yard.
