Please can someone confirm whats involved here?..

I need to do some work where i need to disconnect the battery...

I pressume the standard "negative off first \ last on" rule applies but, will it affect the motors ECU after a while?..(i needto disconnect this as well) -for welding

Do i need to reset the key transponder? will the alarm be affected?...etc...

The battery will be off for approx 5hours..

any advice so that when i reconnect it tonight - it will start and act as normal - would be much appreciated...

A bit of a "noddy" question in some eyes i suppose...but id rather not find out any surprises the hard way.

Mine is a 300TDi "96"

Thanks

Rich
