Freelander Interiors

Looking to buy an early (pre TD4 gen) Freelander as they are so cheap!

However the interior colours are a bit challenging.

I've seen this challenging combo:

This is slightly better:

Leather option:

I assumed this was all the choice I had.

The TD4 generation (2001 on) brought in this slightly toned down version:

And the black cloth:

Now I really want the black cloth interior (most practical seat colour, and less offensive acid blue in the dash) but I haven't seen any pre 2001 cars advertised with it! However this morning I saw a "W" reg 3 door in black with the black interior parked at work. W makes it 2000 - so has this car had an interior swap or was black available as an option?

I know I need to consider the car mechanically as much more important than interior colour, but if I can find a nice car with black interior I would go for that.

Does anyone out there know the interior options?

It's had in interior swap. The black didn't start to come in til 2002. I hate the early interiors as well, the 5 doors are a wee bit better tho.

Hi EggNChips - thanks for confirming that. Looks like I will have to put up with the interesting interior if I go down the early car route. That W plate freelander had gone by the afternoon so I didn't have a chance to get a good look at it, I suppose it could also have been a private plate.
