carlosbeldia
Hi there. I'm looking for info on subject title. My car is a 2001 model (MY 99), does it falls into the affected engines?. It's a Defender, didn't seem one of them reporting this problem, it's always a Disco 2. Did this problem affect Defenders? Since here in Colombia is no possible to obtain spare parts for TD5, I'd like to avoid this proceed as far as possible. In case it have to be done, can I do this by myself with no risk? Grant.
Had this go on my TD5 defender, 2001 model at 106,000 miles (original factory fitted engine), was the oil pump bolt, threads had gone on the bolt and it just came loose! oil light came on and apart from a slightly noisier top end, you wouldn't know, thankfully i wasn't going fast and i stopped immediately so there was no other damage from lack of oil. Wasn't a cheap fix, if I had known I would have checked it as soon as i bought it! Would have a looksy if I were you!
carlosbeldia
Ok, thanks, I'll check it this week. Can somebody tell me size and type of bolt? here I don't have access to Land Rover genuine parts, so I have to look for it...
