disco-jason Posted June 1, 2010 Share Posted June 1, 2010 hi guys please bear with me as i am new to the land rovers,i got a v8 disco1 on a k plate the main problem i am having is when i put my foot on the accelerator peddle i get a really anoying rattle sound if i remove my foot the rattle stops,i have taken it to kwik fit for them to look at as i thought it might be related to the exhaust,up on the ramps they said all looks good apart from a small oil leak but they couldnt see were that was coming from,it has has a new rear exhaust section already put on before i got it,i have had a mate rev the engine while i was looking underneath to see if i could see/hear were it was coming from,all i can say is it was from the underside of the engine bay but i couldnt see anything that was loose etc,any help would be great as i am not sure what to do thanks jay Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Les Henson Posted June 2, 2010 Share Posted June 2, 2010 Could be the torque converter mounting/ring gear plate - they have a nasty habit of cracking and give the syptoms you describe.
