oddball Posted October 12, 2010 Share Posted October 12, 2010 i have a range rover p38 n reg 1995 4.0 litre automatic i towed a freelander the other day ,the dash is now saying gearbox fault ,and takes off slowly ,once driving seems ok ,but saying gearbox fault .also seems to be pushing out gearbox fluid ,at rear of front passenger arch,please can anyone help.john. Range Rover Blues Posted October 13, 2010 Share Posted October 13, 2010 First thing then is to check the fluid level if you still can. the gearboc will have a cooler and the pipes for it run out of the underneath and the passenger's side of the gearboc IIRC, so perhaps one of these has sprung a leak. the cooling systme runs at around 1 bar which is quite low.
