PieEater3142
Hi all, I know this is done to death, but I'm about to do my spraying and after that it will be time to do the sound and heat insulation. I read on here that FatMat is supposedly good, but I was wondering what people thought of StP, they claim StP is the best and used on submarines but would love to know if anyone has used it before and what their views were? Cheers, James
Frax
I have just used fatmat and found it easy to work with. heated it with a hot air gun and stuck it in place. Frax
PieEater3142
thanks for the response on fatmat, do you think it's worked well?
Frax
Sadly wont know for quite some time as I am rebuilding my Defender and just fitted the fatmat last week, still loads to do. It went on easy - sticks well and as far as I can tell by all info I could find it is good stuff. Frax
PieEater3142
looking good. Ok not to worry. My engine is already in so thinking that the heating it up to stick it may be an issue. Although its a 200tdi so only real area i cant get at easily is around the bell housing. Will be watching ur build with interest
Frax
I cut it to shape and then heated it before fitting it, the stuff does not need to be heated it just helps it bend a bit better. Frax
