piper109
I believe my exhaust manifold from a 96 300tdi Disco is in three pieces, 2 elbows and the centre section that the turbo fits to. How well should these parts seal together? Are they only held together with rust or gravity or are there real, effective seals? The reason I ask is that sometimes I have some smoke on a cold start and I see smoke on the exhaust side of the engine under the hood. I would feel better if none were seen. Do they often leak there? Is it likely that once the engine is hot, that is seal properly? Is there a solution so I can be sure that exhaust fumes are not entering the cab area? Thanks, Steve
fozsug
There is no porper seal form LR , i always assemble with exhaust assembly paste, which seals from cold
