Boydie
I finall got round to replacing the core of my 300Tdi intercooler with one produced locally here in Oz. There are several advantages, the first is it has - despire the increased internal surface area, increased air flor for the same static pressure (resistance) almost a 40% increase. For the same air flow as the original the static is down 35%. The best thing is there is a huge reduction in the delivery air temperature to the intake manifold, a reducion of 40 from 135 to 90. (degrees C) by my calcs this represents and increase of 28% air into teh cylinders for zero extra effort. Total cost of the core, $450.00, welding it into teh original headers, a dinner for a good friend of mine who is a wiz with a mig welder
