Besides the look of the rims Interesting comment regarding the original trailing arms. Their diameter and wall thickness is not that impressive and the loads imposed by the portals is not insignificant. Something beefier wouldn't be a bad idea. Soren Frimodt Posted September 7, 2014 Share Posted September 7, 2014 The main issues with the suspension links on a Coiler Landie when running portals, are to my experience with two different Portal axle conversions (Volvo and Unimog) the A-Frame ball joint working loose / twisting the conical pocket on the axle oval. And the large metal discs at the chassis end of the trailing arms caving it on itself, making it the shape of an umbrella.
