My fuel gauge on my 200tdi has stopped working. I was wondering if I can get to the tank sender unit without removing the tank from the vehicle. What I am really asking is there a cover plate in the boot area that can be removed for access. Thanks for any help. Phil

I had one explode a few years ago. I had left the ignition turned on. It sure makes a mess. Phil

Now sorted. i got a new belt from Dunsfold and it was 3 3/8"(thats 85mm) longer than the GFB40995 belt (which is the Unipart equivalent). Fitted easily. A big thanks to Dunsfold Land Rovers and everybody who replied. Thanks Phil watson.

Well I removed the dynamo, I can just manage to get the belt in the dynamo groove. But no chance what so ever of refitting the dynamo bolts, it no way near. I think the belt that I removed was split because it had been to tight. I have been to Fenners who specialise in belts, and there is none anywhere near this size, they are all a lot longer. Could the pulleys be too big? Any ideas please. Surely people haven't struggled like this for the last fifty years. Phil

I have a 1956 86" series 1, it has the 2 litre petrol engine and dynamo fitted. I am trying (without any success) to fit a new fan belt. The belt that came off is the same as the one going on, it has GFB 40995 marked on both of them. I think this is a Unipart number for this model. I struggled getting the old belt off even though it was stretched and badly split, and the dynamo is as far back as possible. The new belt just does not look long enough, it could do to be an inch or two longer. Is there a method of fitting them other than brute force, because i have already tried that. Or is there a longer belt that is available. Thanks Phil

Hi I might have a side tank that fits under the drivers seat, it fills from the top. Where abouts are you, I am in North Lincs. Phil Watson

The vehicle is very distinctive, it was manufactured in South Africa, and has a galvanised chassis and bulkhead. Both steering rods are sumo bars. There is a decent kenwood mp3/cd player, a Maycom EM27 cb radio. All my recovery gear, including waffles and Jackall. It was a good truck thats had loads of money spent on it. Thanks for any help. I have just uploaded the S19 file using Hyperterm and now nothing is working when connected up to the stim. Its probably something that I have done wrong . Any ideas would be gratefully received. Thanks Phil Watson
