Thanks guys. I have managed to get it working by fiddling more with the connection to the unit. Weird but it seemed to work..for now. I still think the electrics are not great in this car. When I put high beams on the stereo goes off? Is that standard?

Yeah the headlights are working. I have managed to fix them. Kept fiddling with the connections of the light unit and presto!! Mind of its own! Cheers
