  1. I tottaly agree with you it has to do its job first and look pretty second. BUT when I've spent a lot of time and one hell of a lot of effort matching it all up inside and out it is a bit of a ******** if I then have to then put bright yellow ones on it....I love it to bits as we all do our Landy's. I'm banned from talking about it round my mates and so obsessed with it Im the kind of mad nut that polishes the under side of my bonnet (No joke) and I polish my axle cases, cross member etc.....My chequer plate floor pannels you can see your face in LOL ( I really do need to get out more or a hobby lol) ...but the main point here is the dam things should not fail that quick in the first place

  2. Are not so good fitted the new one today and she handles great again now But it dont sound good on the long term front........trouble is my whole chassis colour sceame is blue the same blue as the shocks cover ....blue coated stainless brake pipes, blue cross member, blue anti roll bar, blue stearing rods ....I surpose I could spray some others but how long that would last no idea

  3. The warrenty is for just ONE year so the first one that went was coverd but not the other two .... I guess I'm in the lucky position as my Local landy parts place does the back Pro sport 2"+ shock for £43 including VAT so I've no postage on that BUT to add to the above My mate usess them on two Landys One disco one defender 90 and him and his son seriousley off road and do the off road courses / days etc and never had a problem. He recons I've just been very very unlucky........as for the email I sent to Terrafirma NO REPLY

  4. That's the point they did know I inform them of every thing 16.. A4 pages of modifications in small writing LOL even down to the fact the light lens fixings have been replaced with stainless ones.......Just so I'm totally covered and they cant turn around and say you never told us about...........I know this and what you say is right as my partner sorts out insurance claims gone wrong she is mainly employed by insurance companies to sort it all out but all so some policy holders. She has to be independent between the insurance company and the policy holder and be able to substantiate what she says when a settlement can not be found as it can go to court so she has to be able to back up what she says weather its in favour of the insurance company or as in a lot of the time in favour of the policy holder........So with her working one end of the office and me surfing Landy site's, EBay and porn the other end lol and hearing what she has to sort out I know you have to cross the T's and dot the I's and tell em every tinny detail

It was the fact that Red Star were saying that if any of this stuff (they knew about) was stolen off the Landy or it was damaged in a accident it was NOT covered ....Adrian Flux were good and the lady fought for me and once she was put thro to some one lot higher up at Equity Red Star they decided/agreed I was covered if my stuff was stolen off the Landy it did take THREE HOURS tho ....so basically I think It probably comes down to the fact it was prob some spotty 20 year old at Equity red star who didn't know his arse from his elbow telling Adrian Flux wrong info.

  5. Hi every one we all love our Land Rovers and love changing them and doing them up but a word of warning........Read on ALL LANDY OWNERS SHOULD READ THIS

I am insured with Adrian Flux I have a guaranteed value I phoned them to day for to find out if my new bike carrier was insure I was informed anything that IS NON FACTORY STANDARD is insured if the WHOLE Land Rover is stolen BUT NOT if it is stolen from the Landy...Of course I pointed out this is madness and my roof rack must be covered and they told me all modifications are covered.... THREE Hours later on the phone trying to put my case across and Adrian Flux talking to Equity Red Star the actual insurance company .......There NOT COVERD So roof racks are not covered , non factory fitted wheels and tyres including spare wheels , Snorkels , spot lights, bull bars, Tow hitches, steering tank and diff guards...Not covered

Anything that can be removed from the outside of the landy that is non factory standard is NOT covered for theft, All so If it did happen to fall off your landy and hit another car you are NOT covered for the damage it does....I di point out my policy wording is "Your verhicle's spare parts and fitted accessories are insured in the same way , (this includes makes tool kit and vehicles safty equipment). We only pride this cover if the spare parts and accessories are only used with your vehicle, are kept in or ON your vehicle" I did point out it says ON the Landy and does not say Factory fited accecessries or Manafactorors accessories.........It made no diffrance Equiy Red Star ...says NO

OK update to this the good lady at Arian Flux fought my case with Equity Red Star and now Equity red star have changed there minds and decided I am covered if some one steels roof rack etc ....Of course I have asked for conformation of this in writing.....so all is well but as a warning to other it may be worth checking ....The bike rack is still not coverd as its not a perminat fixed accessory but is coverd if it damages some one elses car.

  6. Richards chassis all the way for me when I did my change.......from what I understand Richards build there own chassis but slightly thicker metal than standard (so stronger last longer , but slightly heavier so more fuel) then galvanize it where as Marsland buy a standard land rover chassis and then galvanize it. As the guy mentioned above Talk to them they were very helpful when mine was dun.

  7. Hi there just been out to my Defender this eveing to messure for a bike rack and oh no looked under it and shock oil YET again so blasted off a Email to terafirma (below) has any one else had problems like this ????????

Hi there I have a question about your Pro sport shocks. I have the Pro sport +2" shocks (with the solid Blue guard rather than the concertina gaiter) I Purchased the whole Medium kit from M&M 4x4 on the 22/10/2010 BUT not fitted till 15th Feb 2011 by D&C Roberts when they fitted a new galvanized chassis (millage 195137) The drivers side rear shock failed with in three months after some negotiating with M&M they replaced the shock under the guarantee without me having to wait for ever while it was returned to you for assessment. I then had a rear shock fail again just out of warranty so had to purchase another one from JSF 4x4 on the 31/07/2012 I have been out to night 6/10/2013 and guess what Shock oil all over the drive ...So that's THREE rear shocks that have failed in under THREE years (32 months to be precise) I have a 110 I have spent a fortune doing up it new galvo chassis, springs, shocks Polly bush kit etc etc ....has a Hanabble roof rack that never carries anything and a spare wheel on a swing away carrier on the back door. I carry nothing in the back of my land rover and on 99.9% of all journeys I am the only person in it. I do NOT off road at all (having spent a fortune on all new doors, bonnet etc complete re spray) Since the first fitting in 2010 till today my land rover has dun 10,384 Miles divided by THREE rear shocks averages a new rear shock every 3461 miles or a new one every 10 months ..........Just to add to that of that 10,384 miles 6070 of that have been this year since January meaning the first two failed with in 4314 miles What is going on ??? is there a problem with this product ???

  8. I have a 200tdi and standard wiering ....I have 6 x 55 spots plus the biggest sterio system poss running 3 huge amps ...I had a 120amp alternator built and that copes more than fine with what I'm doing.....Sub is 3000W I have four 6x9 1000W each and front componats are 350W each pluss DVD screens etc ITS LOUD VERY LOUD and is constantly on every time I drive ........alternator copes fine I just turn it off 1/2 mile from home.

  9. Hi folks

  10. No it was not a pleasant experience not one I want to repeat..........When I first had all new doors, bonnet, complete re spray etc ..I didn't even have it back from the paint shop 24 hours and she brought the kids a swing ...........yes pole of the roof rack straight down the new bonnet SCATCHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH..................Straight back in the spray shop the guy obviously felt for me and did a cheap complete re spray of the bonnet............week later kids handle bar down the door SCRATCHHHHHHHHHHH...............Since then not a mark, dent or scratch until now

Some times I do think it would be far easier and far simpler to have a good old army green land rover wack some filler in and hand paint or roller some NATO paint over it LOL are how simple my life would be

No more washing and polishing it wouldn't care if it got bashed in car parks etc

On the positive side my NEW| DOOR just arrive from Ash Tree how's that for fast ultra quick service ...They contacted me I recon 7-8 ish last night and door was delivered today....had it out the box door looks great ...Its a Galvanized frame with the skin marine bonded on..........There are so many options out there now from

Basic steel frame aluminium skin door primed

Galvanized frame marine bonded on aluminium skin and primed

Painted frame and galvanized steel skin

    All steel primed door

    All fiberglass doors

and I'm sure there are others

  11. Yes they do doors .....The good lady herself Jo contacted me (my partner) today and they had not received out from me before so been having email...call forwarding problems I suspect any way I have the lady's number so all is good

I let my wonderful wife drive my Defender first time in FIVE YEARS as I hate her CLUNK style of gear change etc etc In fact just hate her any where near it........unless she puts on her Lara croft outfit lol

I was ultra ill and no way I could drive and she insisted the kids went the ******* dentist so very very reluctantly handed the keys over but did insist on supervising her even tho I was the walking dead ....GUESS what.........My Defender was returned home HORAY its SAFE....how wrong can a man be .......

She reversed up the drive messed it up back down the drive and the five bar gate she had not pinned back that the wind got hold of fast swung towards me......but to me it looked in slow motion like a seen from the Matrix ...I watched in HORROR nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo as I franticly tried to wind down the window to grab it BANG

a small but perfectly round dent in the door like it had been shot with a marble right in the middle of the door ......... But hay you all new that anyway as you all heard me FFFF ing and blinding swearing at her in your various parts of the country ...........She will NEVER get the keys again I don't care if she put my b***s in a vice ..............especially as she said " its only a car" .......But did instantly offer to pay

Hence the new door...and yes could of had it re skinned as its a fairly new door anyway but my Landy is for keeps and I've decided galvanized doors are the way to go..........Why I wanted Ash Tree Land rovers so bad so I don't have to look at the dam dent every time I go to drive it.

  12. And so it goes on still having problems......after email after email phone call after phone call last week I eventually got a email sent from a blackberry phone asking " how can we help Paul" and sine I replied to that nothing again...........which indicates there prob away doing all the shows but not why no reply to emails

All I can presume is there having email problems ...........Or there making to much money to care PMSL either way is bad for me .....

So if any one has any joy contacting them please let me know your secret lol as will give it a bit longer then give up and will have to look into buying elsewhere.

  13. Hi there I'm trying to contact Ash Tree land rovers as I'm after some parts from them after an initial contact a couple of months ago where I spoke to a very helpfully lady about parts to phone back in four weeks when they would be ready.................. I've rung and rung and rung just get there answer phone. I've message left countless messages with me number, sent emails and don't get any reply at all........all I'm trying to do is hand over me cash for some parts lol

There website is up and running .........Does any one know are they still trading ???

Mind you I had this with Sam's trims she is a fab lady great service sorting the job nothing is to much trouble. Really friendly and does a great job as well as a good laugh but by god try getting hold of her I think it took me a year and a half to two years yes that's right TWO YEARS to get hold of her same thing phone call after phone call , email after email, emailed loads on Ebay as well. Then one day got a reply got a reply when I sent a email asking if Id upset her or some thing (she laughed) ...

And all so trying to get hold of her again now for past two months for some ribbed carpet same thing cant get hold of her

So any one know about Ash Tree ???????????

  14.
