  1. well it turns out that the sensor is still duff.. driving it around the gauge shows full for some time and then suddenly goes right down so i'm going to swap it out with a new one. also i noticed on the top of the sender that there are 3 take offs. one was for the gauge but any ideas what the other 2 do?
  2. just to update, it was a nice and easy fix. Removed the plate that was under the seat and was presented by the wire that was just touching the connector. Looked a bit worn so i crimped on a new connector, plugged it in and turned on the battery and result. The fuel gauge started to rise
  3. is the tank accessible from under the drivers seat or do i have to start taking the tank apart from underneath?
  4. Hi guys, the fuel gauge on my series 3 doesn't seem to work correctly. When full it seems to show correctly but other than that it never shows anything. any ideas / common issues?
  5. have you got a link to the series fb group?
  6. is it an old kit they were selling or something they've re made?
  7. managed to take a look at the brakes over the weekend and adjusted them a bit. Took the wheels off first to check that they adjust and i think overall the adjusters need replacing. The pads look ok but i think the whole system could technically do with an overhaul. swapped out the washer system as well and thats now working. Hopefully it's all good enough to get through the MOT thats overdue.
  8. Its an interesting car to drive and scary when the brakes lock up. will have to try and look at it at the weekend weather depending. thought it would be hard to steer but it's not actually that bad..
  9. Hi Guys, Just thought i would post up my S3 that i've had for a while. Been laid up for some time so trying to get it MOT ready. This is when we got it. It's not ex military but previous owner has done it up to look something like it. It was put in for an MOT which it failed on. Mainly the electrics failing and the non existent hand brake. So i got the hand brake sorted and now it works fine. rewired a few things to make them more reliable than before. One thing was rewiring the headlights as they were a bit dim and the main beam stopped working. Still have a slight issue with the brakes and think they need adjusting. The passenger side brake seems to some on and lock up a long time before the others do which is causing a braking imbalance. If anyone has ideas on how to adjust the S3 brakes as well as get easy access to the washer jets that would be great.
