I found my XS leather wheel on ebay it's 1 inch smaller than the 4 spoke & has a thicker rim.
Thanks Ralph, yea i've seen a pic. of your wheel- did it fit straight on no problem?

Have a look here:
Edwin.
Nice one, thanks Edwin, looks like i need to look for a very new looking type C or stay with what I have.

Searched the archives but still unsure, does anyone know whether the later 'soft feel' 300tdi type steering wheel would easily be swapped for my 1991 200tdi original bigger 'Rangie' type wheel. Also, is it a worthwhile swap, I fancy this smaller wheel but it must be original, cheers all.

Fitted my new Cubby box today, chuffed with it but it seems very bare behind it now on the bulkhead. Was wondering what any of you have done to fill the space- Speaker?, carpet Tile? Fire extinguisher?, of course the cubby has to open but there must be something good to fill the void. Maybe just some good stickers.

I have just bought this brand new and genuine cubby box on ebay. Presumably when I un-bolt the middle seat it will be a peice of cake to fix in. As its going into a 1991 200tdi station wagon will it need to be modified or am i right in thinking it should be a walk in the park and bolt holes etc. will all be there? many thanks.

You really want to wire it in to the bottom hose, IMHO, and one of these will do the job nicely.
This is how i have mine.
Excellent, many thanks- so is yours the ' X-Fan Kit (Blue)'? Looks ideal.

Evening all- my 200tdi defender, 1991 vintage has had an electric fan fitted at some stage. This works purely by me flicking a switch when i think its needed. I believe there is a way of wiring it up so that it comes on when needed linked to the top hose? What do I need to fit this, where can I get it
or is it best to stay with with my manual switch, problem is I may forget one day when its hot ( hard to imagine right now I Know) and overheat. Thanks again for your wisdom, cheers.

rubber gaiter is not available as a seperate part, only fix is to live with it in a tatty state or completly replace the stalk assembly [expensive]
I took it off altogether now Ralph and just left a hole, could that cause a problem? cheers.
-
Can one replace the large nobbly grommet bit on the indicator stalk (1991 defender) without taking off the stalk ? or do you have to buy/ replace the whole switch unit? Cheers all, happy new year - hope it gets better as I have a slipped disc, great start to the year!!

Bought a new, in the box, defender worklight- the type with an on/ off switch on the back. Anyone got a pic. of the best place to mount this and the dash switch as well, thanks a million- looks a sturdy bit of kit.

i've downloaded microcat from greenoval people. followed the instructions and chged the date and all that but all i get is a message saying microcat can not run in ms dos or windows programs. i know people must be getting fed up with people asking about micro cat but i need help.... please....
Woudn't work for me either and changing the date caused havoc with the computer. Was told having 'Norton' anti-virus caused the conflict.

Does the rear door rattle while you drive? I should imagine it does.
Guess so, but not noticeable.
-
Strange one- I lock the rear door and test it- all locked, lovely. Drive a few mins, get out, try door and its un-locked again! - its a 1991 tdi and has no central locking so rear lock must be moving somewhere, any ideas? thanks.

By bodywork specialist what exactly do you need doing? most can be done yourself ,is it panels you are after or dents sorted out?
Need rear crossmember welding on and repairs to bulkhead both sides- above wings, below screen.
-
Steve Hill LandRovers Flower Hill, Brislington are supposed to be good.
I've used mayborn 4x4 in Brislington, but not for bodywork...
Thanks for that , Steve Hill landrovers is excellent, have used them recently but they dont do bodywork unfortunately. Will try Mayborn though.

Need the usual bodywork repairs on my 90- i.e. rear crossmember replacement and bulkhead at wing top welding etc. Anyone recommend someone in the Bristol or close areas for bodywork repairs? Thanks and have a good weekend.

My 200tdi defender has a LT77 S gearbox. Is this very different/ preferable to a normal LT77 box -as mine will need changing at some point and the LT77 seems easier to get hold of. Thanks all.
Also can anyone recommend a good landrover bodywork specialist reasonably close to Bristol?

Anyone know about the rear door lock on a '90' 1991 stat. wagon- cant understand the parts cat.- is part no. 395037 the correct one anyone know? Sorry to be a bit 'anorakish' but if this is the one, does it come with a lock barrel and key? Many thanks. have a good week.

My 200tdi - which has only fairly occasional use at the moment and standard electrical demands, no hefty current draining extras needs a new battery pronto.
Been looking at those yellow top ones on Paddocks website. anyone tried these? are they worth the extra? -will try Pete at Christian autos in Kingswood to see what he stocks. Many thanks for any advice.

Actually ARLES paint code JUH,blue on a 90/110/Defender also known as Windjammer on Discovery & Pacific on Range Rover Classic vehicles.
same colour as my '89 110CSW
Thanks Ralph- so it's Arles blue on a defender. Cheers for both replies.

Confused now, bought a thin type xs wheel on ebay, should be right according to the chart but come to fit it and its got the flippin fat type spline within the wheel so is too big for my thin spline. It seems some XS type wheels must have fat splines? Does anyone need one, its brand new too?
