The milage on the truck is 150k so if it hasn't been done, it is probably due one. Just been quoted over £400 for the part from LR main dealer though, which puts me off the idea a bit though...
Cheers

Wow, I had to replace the DMF on the wifes Shogun just before christmas, a 3.2 DID at 80k. It gets used off road and tows a lot. £1300 for the flywheel, clutch and bearing. Thats non gen kit too which just happened to be exactly the same manufacturer as the original i took out, even down to the mitsubishi stamp. As for transits we have a pool transit on the rental fleet out on contract hire, its done 170k and has had a replacement solid flywheel since about 20k with no ill effects or noticeable vibration or noise. As for my landrover, purchasing it seems to get further and further away... We have signed up for a mortgage and a house...

I have never suffered arc eye but have guys at work who have, on the hearing front before i became a mechanic i was issued a version of these for my job, does the trick in the workshop too without mics and leads everywhere on this version.
Sordin Noise Cancelling Headsets
Definately worth the money if you are in a high noise environment for long periods of time.

We (FORD Dealership) use Castrol Magnatec 5w-30A1 in Transit and everything else but old style Galaxy. This has never caused any problems and some of the newer transits run 15k service schedules. We get it delivered by tanker but you can get it in 5l containers with a handy tipper/lid.
HTH.

It was sitting on the forecourt of my local garage at the time, would the garage be liable as it was under their care?
Pi$$ed off in Fleet.

Got a bit here in Rutland, not enough to cause too much chaos, i'm really impressed with the BFG ATs.
Anyone see the BBC news with the New Holland tractor trying to 'right' a crashed merc sprinter with a chain on it's axle?

I'd be in for a t-shirt, hoodie and cap for sure, maybe fleece/beanie if they are also made available. XL in size and any colour is good.

I have to recommend Avast too. never had any problem, i do however also use a sweeping program to remove and rewrite any 'excess' programmes and data. Cyberscrub... you will be amazed at what is on your HD and how much space you have lost.

2 maybe 3 inches here in Rutland and still snowing heavily. Off work sick... damn. Good job i have my 'Flying Spanners' hoody to keep me toasty. The only toy i have at the moment is a [spit] 02' Shogun [/spit] (company van). The big save for another 110 goes on...

Don't know about D2, i'm sure the grown ups will be along to say different but all DPF systems i have worked on have required diagnostic kit to be plugged in and a regeneration cycle started... which makes it sound like the car is going to blow up and die. This is done at specific service intervals or when the vehicle tells the driver with a warning light or message. Most vehicles can regenerate to a certain extent during normal drive cycles so it can be a while before it needs full regeneration. Hope that helps, probably useless but i'm having one of those days.
Tenneco make DPF/Cat units you could see if they make one model specific or one you could adapt.

What gets me is the fact that the owner values it such that there is a reserve on it. I would be pleased to be rid of that death trap.
To the scrappy.

I know this is terribly late but thanks to all involved. I love my H.O.F.S. hoodie and t-shirt, and the wife has even declared they are smart enough to go to the pub in. LOL!

When you are able to take the dressing off and you have a layer of good skin start applying aloe vera gel, you can get it from boots. Take my word for it, the stuff will really help heal and minimize the scarring. Trust me i used to be a chef and my arms look like someone has been chopping wood on them with burns, the wife reckons it looks like i have been tortured. Wish i had known about the aloe vera before i met her!

...when fabrication became art... Thats incredible.

Have you tried contacting a retailer that deals with some of the ex service vehicles? You often see electricity/water company vehicles with lockers fitted but rarely see them with lockers fitted when they are sold on... Unless they take them off before they are released of course. Just a thought.

Mine haven't arrived yet, should i be worried? There is another Landy lover at work and it would be just like him to try and snaffle them away!

Flaremaster on offer at the moment £45 off! I love these tools, we have a vice mounted one at work but these are great for on the vehicle jobs. Unless like us you have a transmission jack with a vice on which isn't awkward or unwieldy at all...

On my old car... i won't say what it was apart from fast and shiney i used a clay bar, then t-cut, then t-cut with a product called finesse it from 3m. About half and half mixed together, then just pure finesse it. Then a hard build wax, then a high shine wax. If you wanted to you could miss out the mix and the high shine, you would still get a good finish. A lot of work but it won trophys.
This is the stuff
P.S. If you do it yourself there is so much satisfaction.

From back in the days when i had a loud stereo in my super fly ford focus i seem to remember Harmon Karmon being rebranded JBL or the other way round... Couldn't be certain though.

I doubt that was the dealers idea of a fix, more an attempt to diagnose. If it is an intermitant fault and you cannot replicate it how can you find and fix it?
If it were a transit i would say it was a software problem. Likely solved by an update. But hey... thats a transit.
