  1. Hey guys, The same happened to me. I bought a long range fuel tank, side fuel tank and wheel carrier from Safari Equip and too didn't get a single scrap a paper with instructions. Considering the amount of cash I spend you would expect some paperwork. And this was last year (2009) around May ... so it seems that nothing has changed! My local Land Rover shop had to chase/beg Safari for instructions after a fair few phone calls. I now have issues with my wheel carrier and have "successfully" gotten through to Lesley (reception) and Tom (workshop) who gave me their email address (which bounced). This has been going on for about a month now trying to get a Techie there to contact me. Lesley promised me this morning that someone will call definately today. It's a joke. They are very happy to take your money ... and that's where the relationship ends.
  2. Is that the preferred penetrative fluid to use? ... diesel? -JackSA

  5. Ah ... indeed. Cheers for the shots, I guess it's best to get the TD5 part. Thanks for the help, guys! Cheers, JackSA
  6. Hey guys, The flexi-hose in the middle of my raised air intake is starting to perish and I was on my way to replace it, howoever it seems that that specific part is only certified for the 200TDi ... and I've got a 300TDi. What is the difference? I know that the air intake is on the left hand side of a 200TDI Landy as opposed to the right hand side of a 300TDi but surely the flexi-hose will fit both kits, right? (want to make sure before I order) Cheers for your time. -JackSA
  7. Hey guys, Thanks to everyone for your replies, loads of advice there, thanks. Gemsbok: The price in the UK for M&M covers is taking the p*ss to say the least (does it have to be that expensive?), but you're right, they are great. Cheers, JackSA
  8. OK. Cheers, guys! Loads of info, thanks! I guess it's easier to get a bracket for moving the control/solenoid pack to the engine comp, so I'll have a look around. Regards, JackSA
  9. Hey James, Cheers for the help on this. What do you mean by "albrright copies"?? Not sure I follow that? How do you mean vertical plane? (apologies for the noob question). Rgds, -JackSA
  10. Hey guys, Need some advice here, please. I would like to move the control pack of my Warn XD9000 from the front to somewhere in the engine compartment. I've read in previous posts that this can be moved to somewhere in front of the driver. I'm not a 100% sure where exactly (it's already a tight fit in there). Can anyone pass me a pointer, please. I guess the cabling need lengthening as well. Cheers for your time. Thanks, JackSA.
  11. Nice one, thanks for the reply. Do you have the make of your covers? -JackSA
  12. Hey guys, I'm changing gears here from the normal mechanical question ... to seat covers. I'm looking for a proper set of seat covers with a pouch(es) at the back to fill with toys/books for the kids; something that won't slide off the seat as you get in/out of your Landy. I had a look at the Melvill & Moon covers on Exmoor's website, but I really can't stomach the price tag. What else do you guys use? Cheers, JackSA.
  13. Hey guys, Cheers for the replies. some good advice there. -JackSA
  14. Hi guys, Looking to install an inverter in my Landy ... around 250W will do (not planning to arc weld in the middle of Botwana). Mainly to keep the laptop, sat phone and cameras topped up (maybe a small appliance). I've had a quick look around Maplin, and saw that familiar names, like Clark, not getting the best of reviews; so I'd like to hear from those in the field, please. Cheers for your time. -JackSA
  15. Yip, a few months back now .... was under new management too but not for long. -JackSA

  17. Hi guys, Scorpion racing used to sell (who's the owner now?) a rear wheel carrier with a High-Lift Jack mount ... Photos over here -> http://www.scorpionracing.co.uk/ -> EXTERIOR -> REAR WHEEL CARRIERS Since the went bust, do you know where I can find such a carrier? Cheers, JackSA
  18. AHA!!! Top man, thanks for the pointer Cheers, JackSA
  19. Hi guys, Any of you know where I can get a proper storage box for a roofrack (Haniball in this case)? I've seen the checker-plated. very secure, slight sloped in front type boxes at Billing ... but never did make any enquiries. Paging throught the Landy mags, I see Frogs Island's 90 has such a box, but they don't make it themselves. Cheers for the help. JackSA
  20. Damn, wish I read this earlier. How bad was it? -JackSA
  21. Yip, you're right, need to give this a bit more thought. I'll drop you guys an email with photos in a couple of weeks time Cheers for all your help! Rgds, JackSA
  22. OK, good point. Cheers for all your answers, it's much appreciated. I'll take your advice on this. Rgds, JackSA
  23. OK, I see ... this brings me to another question, it seems like most of you guys prefer a removable solenoid pack to an integrated one. Is that a fact? Is it because it's the first part that goes on a winch? (ie due to wading?) Rgds, JackSA
