  1. Any pointers on how to identify correct one? The below is the only pic I have of mine unmounted.
  2. My measurement from just below the fusebox on the BH to the square ridge (top corner) on the seatbox is 440mm. Tunnel is 400mm. BK to seat box are a bit far off, but cannot see what might be throwing it off...p
  3. Anyone can give measure for the the distance between the seatbox and the bulkhead?
  4. I assume you are referring for the mounting for the retrofit. I am not sure since i bought it retrofitted, but from what i see assume so. I do not follow what you exactly mean by not matching the gear lever hole. Sills are mounted correctly and seatbox too with all bolt holes matching.
  5. Any reason as to why the space between the R380 tunnel and the bulkhead? Originally a 19J engine retrofitted with 300tdi and r380. From what I can tell, seatbox was retrofitted for R380 as well. Any ideas of what i can use as a spacer so as to have bolts fitting level? Thanks.
  6. Hi all, was reconnecting the thick brown wire to my 300tdi alternator and the terminal thread where the thick brown wire goes sheared. Do I need a new alternator or can I extract the thread and replace? Thanks
  7. I underatand the thick brown/red wire need to be disconnected for a glow plug relay setup. That is clear to me. My main questions is the confusion regarding the thick white and white/black wire on connections 3 and 1. Should I leave as currently is or are there any potential issues I am not seeing? Truck used to run fine with this setup. Apologies if i was not clear in the previous posts.
  8. Any ideas as to the why it might have been connected this way?Is it a good assumption that somewhere the white/black wire is connected to the white?
  9. Thanks Steve. I am currently trying to install the glow plug timer and was aware i need to disconnect the brown/red wire. My main concern is the missing white cable on terminal 1, and a white cable (instead of white/black) on terminal 3. Any idea on this?
  10. I need some help regarding how my starter is wired. Starter is a Lucas 162SA on a 1988 Ninety converted to 300tdi. I was chasing some wires in order to connect a glow plug timer relay harness (finally delivered after order in February) and realised that my starter has the glow plug wire connection disconnected and what seem to be where the white wire should be too. From what I could find, these should be the numbered connections: 1: White 2: Brown/red 3: White/black 4: White/red 5: Brown I have connection 2 (glow plug - all this time they were disconnected) and 1 disconnected. On 3 I have a solid white wire. Can someone explain how my starter is connected? Truck used to run ok, but have not strated in some time due to ongoing refub. Thanks
  11. Could you kindly post a link here? I went through the tech archive and cannot find it.
  12. Very clear tks. Is the referenced manual available somewhere? As I could not find it doing a quick search on the net.
  13. And when fitting the relay on older vehicles, do i connect the old brown/red wire currently feeding the plugs to where the white/red tracer from ignition should go on the relay? Also, do i need to change the ignition switch?
  14. Thank everyone for your help. What is your opinion regarding the glow plug setup on a 300tdi conversion? Is it recommended to go to the timer setup, or perhaps just putting a simple extra fuse? I know this topic has been discussed before, but am asking because I am perplexed what caused the insulation on glow plug wires to melt. No evidence of a short between wire terminals and engine block.
  15. I had not seen your post before posting. Thanks for the link.. will check it out.
  16. Thanks all for your help. I did a quick search online and for a 12V supply with a 4 to 7ft long cable, one needs a 10AWG cable for 50-65A. 10AWG equivalent is 6mm2 (as per tables). Will go this way.
  17. What I need is the cable from the first plug to supply, which is part of the main harness.
  18. I need to change/repair the glow plug cable as it got damaged. Vehicle is a 90 and was originally fitted with a 19j engine, however it is now converted to 300tdi. Original harness is still installed, so timer relay is not present. Can anyone tell me the correct wire size I need to use for the glow plug? Thanks.
  19. So new holes or new middle seat it seems then. Any idea on how wide a suitable middle seat needs to be?
  20. The recline handles are nearest the doors. The opposite bracket of the seat is the issue. I suspect I might have the wider driver seats. And idea how wide old type seats are?
  21. Forgot to mention it is a 1989 LR90 with 300tdi and r380 retrofitted. Not sure if the seats are the original ones. Any more information on seat width dimensions pls?
  22. Hi all, I don't know if anyone can help. This is my first post and quite new here as I got a 90 not long ago. Recently I bought a front middle seat (had no seat or cubby box in middle) but had problems fitting the middle seat. The middle seat holes matched holes in seat box, however the seat would not go in without moving both driver and passenger seats forward on the rail. Now after install, i cannot move the side seats all the way back. It seems the side seats bracket that forms part of the folding mechanism is hitting the centre seat frame. Before I had the centre seat, side seats could slide more backwards. Is this normal? Thanks.
