Sorry to resurrect this post , I’m a defender2 member but struggled to find anyone with a similar experience . My 2009 axle just let go on the weld whilst traveling at 30 mph on tarmac very close to home. The concern is that this vehicle wasn’t in the Recall Action P047/048 !! It’s a 110 DCPU , attached is a photo It’s done 130k but is well looked after and isn’t abused in anyway , not that it’s relevant as clearly it’s s manufacturing fault. thank goodness I wasn’t going 60 on an A road with my three kids in when it went as all control was lost when it happened and it would have veered straight into oncoming traffic.
