  1. perhaps a little tastless, hardly worth making a big fuss over. You know what the score is with Clarkson, I cant imagine anyone watching it not knowing what they were in for. As with the Brand/Ross debacle, the only people who might feel justifyably (is that a word?!) offended are those in direct connection with the inferred comments.
  2. thanks, gives me some hope at least..
  3. Its a single point... is it just a matter of adjusting the valve in until it starts running rough?
  4. Just to conclude, fitted the OE radius arm bushes today (whilst lying in about half inch of water whilst it pi$$ed down continuously) and its like driving a different car, much better and I am a happy bunny. Thanks for all your contributions Pad
  5. nope, you guys are getting considerably better than me (and about what I was hoping for). £30 did me 110 miles.... if I had done 150 miles I would have been pleased.
  6. sadly dont have that option as its auto... I was thinking last night what a significant drop in LPG economy that is if on petrol I should expect 15-18mpg... at current difference in prices it wont make any difference which fuel I use, which is disappointing. Perhaps I should run it on petrol for a while to see what mpg I am get.. Cheers
  7. nope, seems to drive well enough...
  8. Hi, I filled up my RRC today with gas after having it for a week and travelling about 110 miles and got 50 litres in from when I last filled.. 10 mpg!! Jeez, is that normal? I have been driving very gently albeit in mixed traffic conditions, but I was hoping for at least 16/17 mpg on gas to give me an equivalent cost of 25-28 mpg on petrol. I do have a blowing exhaust manifold gasket but would be surprised if this was a major contributor. Or is this just normal? 3.9 EFI by the way.. Cheers Pad
  9. yup, have an angle grinder too so hopefully will be ok... expecting to do the work at a friends workshop so fingers crossed we will be able to get it done in a day.
  10. Gonna play it safe and go with the OE bushes, cant afford the superpro so I would rather not compromise. Cheers
  11. And if the extra '1' was an accident, then putting on nearly 20000 miles in 6 months is going some. I think it may have been tested to try and 'verify' its new mileage. Sorry, but it sounds suspect. I am sure you could get police involved as it is a criminal offence? Good luck. Pad
  12. Thanks, will do them one at a time to be on the safe side. I am not looking forward to getting the old ones out, thats for sure. Will be giving it plenty of plus gas the night before and should have an impact driver and breaker bar at my disposal so hopefully well prepared.. Cheers, Pad
  13. Morning all, So from my other thread I have decided to change the radius arm bushes and panhard rod bushes in my RRC... I am opting against poly now as I cant afford Superpro and I dont want to put carp bushes in so OE is the way to go. I can get access to a press so should make things easier. Anyway, I looked at the technical archive and note that the correct way to remove radius arms is to support the axle, but for panhard to stay on the wheels. Is it safe to put both axles on stands, remove radius arms front and rear and the panhard rod? Or will this leave the car dangerously unsupported in for/aft and side to side? (its on coils by the way..) Thanks in advance, Pad
  14. cheers for that, some good tips - the drill and hacksaw method sounds do-able for me. Whats the crack with the Deflex then, are they ill fitting or is the durability poor? Surprised that an apparently reputable dealer is selling them if they are carp.. Thanks again to all those that have contributed. Pad
  15. ok, so it looks like I can get a full set of Deflex poly bushes for a very reasonable £60 or so and they look easy enough to fit... any tips on getting the old ones out?! Cheers
  16. thanks chaps, looks like I'll get on the case with paddockspares tomorrow then (and let the swearing begin..) Cheers Pad
  17. Evening all, Had a moment of madness at the weekend and bought an 93 Vogue SE off ebay, always fancied a Classic and this looked ok... pretty straight, has gas with certs, coil sprung, and everything works, just a couple of minor mechanical issues that need sorting (which I knew about). Given I paid less than £600 and it has MOT till Jun 2009 and tax till Jan, I am a pretty happy bunny. What I wasnt prepared for though was the rear axle feeling like it has a mind of its own (bearing in mind this is my first 4x4 so I will be a bit 'soft' ). It really is quite alarming at first, squirms around a fair bit. I am assuming the bushes in the panhard rod are shot, can anyone offer any advice as to ease of removal of the old ones and what new ones to go for (and where from..)? The other issue, which when combined with the above means I am not driving it at the moment, is that at anything over 40 mph, when I brake it lurches to the left, but only at the initial bite, if that makes sense? Once constant pressure is applied then it seems to sure up, like one of the calipers has a 2 second delay on it. Could this be sometihng as simple as a sticky pot? I would be surprised if its air, as the pedal feels (surprisingly) firm. Any advice or comments you have on either issue would be appreciated and I look forward to spending some time on here! Cheers Pad
