As has already been said my feedback is brilliant event. I was the guy rolling the SJ all over the place so sorry for getting in peoples way,
Really enjoyed the night event, loved the team spirit there and was a great opportunity to chat to a few other drivers which made the atmosphere more enjoyable.
looking forward to the next event
Oh does anyone know the guy who was taking a video of the night section (tyre run) as would be good to see a few of them + more photos
Cheers

I have to agree we are competing in all of them this year and did a couple of events last year my feedback is certainly for a points system.
i.e deducted if you have lockers/ over 35inch tyres / twin winches / 1 or 2 lockers etc etc. I think the stages are great in the howling wolf but i think teams are not rewarded when a smaller less modded truck gets to a punch in the same time as someone on 44's etc. (class 2 is very wide you can have trucks with one locker or 2 for example)
a limited points system would encourage some teams not to chuck bigger tyres faster winches on etc. buy maybe look into making their truck more competive in another way.. i.e lighter or center winch that can pull front or rear etc
hope this feedback helps
we are both very much looking forward to it this year
cheers

Yep am looking forward to it too. We got the old sj out this week and even bought some new boots for her today.... we should all add some photos in what vehicle we are competing in so it will make it easier to say hi in the evenings. This is how ours looks to date. (Will and Mark)

hi i just fitted the grill on mine and jammed it in. lol. i then bough another air vent gril and screwed that to the checkerplace on the top of the new wing. (so if you like the heater vent now has two grills)and the actual heater is infact probably 1 inch lower than it should be.

Hi, I am about to buy a discovery 2 for my wife and wondered if you could give me some advice as to what to look for: i.e pro's and cons.
I am fairly mechanically minded but want to ensure it is a reliable car as we are selling a 2007 car to buy this.
From looking around between 6-8k you can get a disco 2 ES with cream leather seats ideally which is between a 2001-2003 with 50k-70k on the clock.
Is there anything i want done at this age or needs replacing? How reliable are they?
Thanks

i noticed mine need doing as you can shake the wheel up and down as if the wheel bearing had gone. i would say put the same back in and spin it around and see if there is any movement - but wait and see what someone else says.

Hi, bit of a long shot but worth an ask. I have a sankey trailer down in Bournemouth and need to get it to Farnham way ( post code GU9) or anywhere closer in the next week - sooner the better. Is anyone doing this run and fancy picking it up on a nato hook. obviously ill pay you cash - just really busy at the mo and not going to have the landy a few days.
cheers

great thanks

oh, how do i know if its top or bottom? is it just a case of looking and seeing where the wobble is or do you do the same to both always?
cheers

thanks guys very useful cheers!

Hi quick question, I thought my wheel bearing was loose so I took it apart tightened it up and there is still play. Looking closer you can see its on the swivel so must be king pins. Can you tighten these up or do you just replace them? I have done about 20k miles on 33's and never looked at them so imagine they might need to be changed.
Is it just a case of doing those 2 bolts up a bit on both sides or undoing them and removing a shims or do you take the swivel apart and replace the lot...?
Thanks in advance
Will

Hi, bit of a long shot but basically i need a new rear 300tdi 90 prop tonight! as need the landy tomorrow to pull some heavy things around.
i have taken the prop off and tried to change the UJ but have already broken a new UJ in trying to do it. i have one new one left in the packet to try and fit but just cant seem to get the thing on and am making a real hash of it..... does anyone live close to farnham and fancy either selling me a rear prop... of giving me hand to change this one..... (i have called challenger and they dont have one in stock)
i have done one before but just cant remember the nack to doing it... i have a small workshop and its all sitting on the vice ready to go with the old one cut off...
Thanks in advance

Good maths... i know its been said but yes brakes have to over power a car even at full engine revs - i try it on ever company car i drive

Thanks for the heads up. Probably not a bad idea i dont think there is anywhere that has not been driven on.
cheers

My mistake there were a lot of roll overs that day and broken trailing arms.
Congrats!
-
i was competing along side him in that event. It was in the howling wolf last year in wales. Think he rolled it and slid down a near vertical slope taking the axle off. There were about 20-30 roll overs that day.

looking forward to see how this turns out. plus if the 8274 casting will actually hold out with all the power and twist you will have. good work!

Halfords pro screwdrivers are good but my handles still turn on them if you put enough force through it...
