    Im going to say this here and please do not take offense

    But i was at a winch challenge not to long ago where seat belts were not mandatory.... there were new, youngs guys going off big slopes with no belts and half doors......i was amazed and as a marshall had no power to make them wear any

    We compete in quite a few events and reading this has just made me place and order for some helmets.

    Generally our sport is safe but sadly accidents do happen

  2. Some really good advice there. As long as you have an idea as to what to exspect as Team Gunit said in whatever event you enter other trucks will help you out whatever..

    Team Gunit - helped us get our suzuki back on 4 wheels as did west mids a few times.

    Good one on the stub axles being differnet i can see a hole in one so thats easy to tell

    However the 4 hubs look indentical to me are we sure they wont fit front and back ??

    Also how would i tell which discs there are for..i bought them off white90 about a year ago... maybe he will read this :)

  4. Hi I have stripped two 24 spline axles to re build. Problem is I stripped them ages ago and Now can't remember can someone confirm the below please?

    1) are the stub axles the same for the front and rear?

    2) are the bits where the bearings sit in ( where you bolt the disc to the same for the front and the back?

    3) can you use front discs on the back and vise versa?

    I'm building the axles again so can't remember which goes where

    These are all for a defender 24 spline axle.... They look the same but just want to make sure?

  5. I asked a while ago about putting a disco arm on a defender so its easier to change the drop arm ball joint.

    Is there an idiots guide on here with pictures...

    i just want to check what I'm doing before i go ahead..

    Basically i have a discovery 300tdi 1995 steering box with the flat drop arm. I want to bolt that on my 1994 300tdi defender (so get rid of my drop arm that has a bend in it and a ball joint already attached.

    1) first question will that work .. will everything turn ok having a flat drop arm ?

    2) i was going to use my uprated steering arms that i already have on there and screw in a ball joint to it not sure whats there now thinking about it)

    3) lastly buy a steering damper relocation kit and mount the damper differently

    im sure that's not all correct and could really do with a step by step idiots guide.. does anyone have one please?

  6. Yes please SJ 4x4 photos would be great - i would rather take the whole lot off just so i can give it a really good look and clean but if its going to be a pain i might just remove the floor now as KKmobile said.

    when i changed my clutch recently i took the whole engine out for that same reason as would rather work over the top of something and make the job a good one than lying underneath cursing :)

    How do you get that floow piece out drill the rivets?

  7. Hi my cross member is a bit rotten and i fancy putting a new roll cage on my truck so have decided that if i remove the rear tub i can do all the welding on a new cross member easily without lying on the ground and make some nice roll cage mounts.

    But my question is how do i get it off! i had a look and can see some mounts but its riveted with hundreds of rivets all over the rear bulkhead bit? don't suppose there is a step by step guide to an easy removal wit pictures on here is there?

    do i have to take the seat box and rear bulk head out with it? Thanks in advance guys!
