  1. I was going to get a set of these for my 110 for a recent rally but after a couple of threads on another forum I decided against it.

They're a directional tyre so unless you get lucky(ish and have a puncture on the correct side you're going to have a tyre on the wrong way round.

Could be very dangerous in wet conditions.

My 2p's worth (but I am a BFG whore anyway  )

  2. Watchya Pete

How far are you from Maidstone mate

I've got all of region 3's byways plotted on 2004 MM. You still need to check on the definitive map or whatever the local council use but I'm sure we can get it onto your PC somehow

    Cheers

  3. I did have electric RRC seats in a while back which were a bit of a nuisance to fit. I found the best way of fitting them and setting them in a nice position (I can't do electrics) was to tape the battery from a cordless drill to the cables.

I had to get rid of them in the end though as they gave me no leg room in the back, everyone had to sit sidesadle.

For some strange reason manual seats aren't quite so big.

    Just thought I'd share :D

  4. Morning!

I'm still using my original rear door on my DC conversion.

Just had the window section chopped off and some capping put on.

I'll need to get a swingway carrier at some point because the door/wheel carrier is no being held on by 2 hinges not the full 3. I't been on for about a year and a half now and the weight on the hinges doesn't seem to have made much difference yet.

  5. Just to bring up an old thread.

I was going to put a spare on the roofrack (taking 2 spares on the rally). But after the thread about excessive weight on the rack I'm now thinking about the bonnet.

I was thinking about using a pair of rachet straps in an X shape on O rings in all 4 corners of the wings. I'f I put the rings through the wings with backing plates would this be enough to support the weight?

    Cheers

  6. Hi Keith

Someone else has bought up the problem with paying by card for fuel in France.

Apparently it's due to different software on the chip & pin machines. France is on CP1 and we use CP2 (or summat like that)

Bit of useless info for ya there mate :D

    Enjoy your trip

  7. 80kg, gulp!!

I've got 3000 mile - 2 week rally in a few weeks and I'm taking 2 spare wheels, 1 will be on the rack with 4 x 20ltr jerry cans and a pair of waffle boards.

I'm keeping the tub clean to carry 14 days food, water, clothes, tents ect. for me and co-driver

  8. I had RRC seats in my 110 for a few months. They were very comfy but that was lost by them being completely impractical. The leg room in the back was reduced to only a couple of inches so anyone wanting to sit in the back had to sit sideways.

I'm only 5'8" so it wasn't even due to the seat being to far back.

Ended up slinging them and putting the original Def ones back in. I'll probably just sort the foams out at some point.
