  1. i run two kenlow fans operated by switch never have to turn them on ???? as for the heater matrix i flushed and reverse flushed its running clear as anything if i stick my hand where the stereo should be i can feel warmth there but the blowers still blowing cool
  2. right guys well been hard at work getting my bobtail sorted thats why I haven't been on much the body work has been repaired just trying to make my mind up what colour to spray it lol the make shift tank that was fabricated which was leaking and taking up all the boot space has now been removed so i replaced it with a race tank removed the rear seats and mounted the whole lot forward giving me a little more space i carpeted the sides just to tidy things up a bit and am just waiting for the chequer rubber flooring to be delivered to cover the rear floor space. there was a twin battery setup which was wired up all wrong including the fact that one of the batteries was knackered whch was draining the whole lot so now i have fitted a auxilary voltage switch and a fresh battery which all works a treat now here is the last of my problems well one of them lol once i got things going i found that there was no heating so I removed the radiator gave that a flush also removed the thermostat ensuring the bleed hole is situated at 12 o'clock which i thought wouldnt be a bad thing also i disconected the heater matrix and flushed and reversed flushed it reconected it all back together no leaks took the bob out for a half hour or so for drive the tempreture guage did not rise above a 1/4 way but still no heating the upper hose was warm as i would expect not hard to touch so good circulation the heater matrix pipes aren't that warm so it looks like the circulation to that area is not happening why???? any ideas?

  6. as for the kickdown adjustment just been checking out my trusty haynes manual is this what they refer to as "kickdown band adjustment screw" located on the right hand side of the gearbox?
  7. ok will try the kickdown cable first if no good will look at transfer box i need enaugh power off road as i shoot on some very hilly land I used to own a freelander for my sins and it couldn't get up a lot of the hills I needed to get up also 1.4 transfer box ? what did they come out of?
  8. Well firstly I am having a problem when driving the RR on the road it wont change to top gear normally I have to back off the power then she changes up then I can accelerate gently the engine sounds like its reving quite hi but not sure how high as my rev counter doesn't work as for what i would like to achieve well a normal ish drive whilst on the road good acceleration don't need a big top speed as this vehicle is mainly used for off road but there is a drive to and from and shooting also something that isn't going to cost the earth as I really don't have the funds at the moent as I have a few other projects on the go here is a picture

  18. where is the switch in the gear box my freelander is a 2004 freelander 1.8L 3 door
  19. Hi guys just a quicky can anyone tell me how to fix my reversing lights checked the bulbs and they are ok
  20. Well firstly I would just like to say a big hello I am a Newbie on here I live just outside Carlisle and I own a freelander originaly bought as a run around as I wanted a allrounder but more on road than off but as with every well laid plan things change I am shooting more and more often and doing a lot of fox control on quite a few farms locally so the freelander has now been promoted now the main problems are as follows Firstly ground clearance: due to the wet weather even the lanes are now becoming a problem as the tyre tracks are just too deep and am having to balance on the middle and outside of the lanes Secondly is mud: we have had soo much rain here that everything is absolutley sodon! ok at the mo it's frozen but soon it will all thaw out and thats when the problem of getting stuck is just a nightmare. now I have read through the forum and I think my solution would be the following: 2" lift kit inc. camber pins from here: http://www.mailorder4x4.com/acatalog/Onlin...ension_405.html Tyre choice would be: 235/70/16 with spacers as required (advice very welcome) e.g. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...em=190215613895 or http://www.bronco4x4.com/product_tyreSearc...p;Submit=Search Guys I would be really gratefull to hear your opinions and if there is anything else you might want to suggest
