  1. well ive bought it. did a check and vin comes back as s2a 2.6 6cyl 109, green home market rhd with basic trim. currently fully original painted white with reflective strips and dealer stickers, rear canopy with beacons and lighted name board and a complete harvey frost on the back. im well chuffed to be honest. needs a couple of outriggers, 2 dumbirons, footwells and a good tune up, not bad for 470 quid!!

  2. hi, does anybody know a website, or somebody on here that can decode series 11a 109 chassis numbers? been to look at one but its on a qplate with no logbook and the owner has no idea of its date of manufacture, would like to find out a little more about it from its chassis number thanks

  3. i did actually post a link to the ebay page so you could all take a look for yourselves, therefore theres no need to post facts. as sad as it may be to have genuinely stumbled across this one night all ive tried to do is find a website where i can aire my concerns. this vehicle could be someones pride and joy and id be devastated if it ever happend to me. it does seem to have lot of tdci bits such as dash and ventless bulkhead which does make me feel it is a genuine tdci underneath, seller stands by his post that the vehicle is an e reg and has not yet replied to my request for chassis number. this may be a genuine vehicle and if so i wish the seller well, but something just doesnt seem right.....and often those that dont seem right, never are

  4. just had my heritage certificate throught the post and it confirms my s2a is mid grey. what i need to no is what paint they were painted in originallly, cellulose or enamel????

  5. been asked to have a look at a mates l series thats started diesel knocking. was throwing upa code reverting to fuel pump. hes replaced that but no change. it seems the code is reverting to pump advanced al the time?? ive been for a look tonight. injectors seem ok as its on all cylinders. timings on the marks, checked all wiring back to ecu etc but still no luck. any body else had this issue??? she sounds like the old prima diesel!!!1

  6. i have been asked to have a look at my mates dads series one steering today. always quite nice to steer until we painted it a few weeks ago. now its very stiff so ive disconected the track rods and the relay is very stiff, needing two hands to move it from side to side. ive checked theres oil in it and sprayed some wd40 around it. are there any other ways to loosen them up or is it going to be a new item??? what is the procedure to change it?? is it a complete pain to change??

  7. been to fit my mates arb lockers into discovery diffs today nd have hit a huge wall. the lockers came out of s3 diffs with 4.7 fd. im trying to revert to the standard defender 3.54 to make it more road friendly but when attempting to rebuild them the old diffs have much larger bearings, also the arb air pipe piece is lrger, id there a way around this?? im told the lockers may be very early rangerover

  8. had a 300 90 in today that is a right pig to start first thing in the morning. checked ll fuel pipes and connections all seem fine. he says it seems as if its run out of fuel. goes like a rocket once started and will start fine all day long after. will the lift pump being faulty cause these issues??

  9. hi, im attempting to change the fd ratio on my mates 90 from 4.7.1 bck to 3.54 but ive never done this before and am having some troubles. is there a good guide on here how to do this when they are gitted with arb's?? i understand to set them up you need to get the backlash correct, i understand this but am unsure of how tight the adjuster nuts need to be on the bearings once you have the backlash correct. also is it ok to undo the 3 allen screws that hold the one adjuster cap with the airpipe on so you can adjust it?? thanks

  10. we re undertaking a chassis swap on my mates 200 90, theres lways been lots of slop in the steering box so we were going to fit a recon one. it seems shame to do this i there is an adjustment that can be made. whilst sitting on the spot with the engine off theres a good half a turn of free play at the wheel. how do i go about reducing this??

  11. iv a 200 tdi defender an am after a hybrid turbo for it, can anybody sugest the cheapest place and what i should expect to pay to have my own turbo rebuilt?? also is a def 200 turbo the same as a disco 200 as i have a spare disco one on the shelf, i also have a 19j turbo if thats the same, i could send one of these in for rebuild instead of disabling my landy, thanks
