  2. Hi Dave Thanks for putting my buggy on your forum, here are some stats Name: daisy Frame homemade using 2 x 2inch x ΒΌ inch square tubing for main chassis and 2x1/4inch tubing for main frame Engine 3.4 litre ford essex v6 gas flowed & free flow exhaust &downdraft twin carb To be able to climb up & down without spluttering Gearbox is a c4 ford box coupled to a series3 transfer box modified by Ian Ashcroft to fit on a c4 with a lower ratio I am not sure what the ratio is that he supplied as he made it for a friend Robin Brown Front diff is a series diff with ARB difflock and a modification by Ian Ashcroft with a rubbing block to stop the crown from jumping off the pinion Soon I will be putting a salsbury diff in the front with the same specs as the rear one Rear diff is a salsbury diff 4/7 ratio ARB diff lock centre portion was moved to the right hand side to line up with transfer case out puts series swivels turned out to fit Ian Ashcroft CV joints the axle shafts were then made up in south Africa by a company out of EN32B material and hardened to aprox 48 rockwell I would have liked to use 4340 chrome molley but it is not freely available here. Shocks were made by a friend so as to overcome the shortcomings of off the shelf shocks the shocks have got a70/30 rebound trim 70/85valving a seprate reservoir & are nitrogen filled they have a total of 14 inches of travel each The bottom radius arms are made of 2x1/4 inch chrome molley they start in the middle of the buggy and are 1.2metre long each I have a front A arm and a rear A arm on top the buggy has 43% anti squat rear and 100% front and a wheel base of 105 inches Brakes are discs all round and fitted with willwood calipers each brakeline is flexible braided from brake master cylinders has a12 volt solenoid so each wheel can be braked individually for very sharp turning Steering is completely hydraulic with a seprate control for front and rear steering and hydraulic double acting rams front& rear So far I have broken quite a few universal joints in my diffs I am hoping that ashcrofts CV joints have sorted out the problem I have just finished building the buggy in july this year and am testing the buggy this year to be competitive next year any input from you guys to improve my buggy will be appretiated thanks Paul Pereira paul@perelec.co.za Go to site www.4x4challenge.co.za to view south African 4x4 challanges
