Playing with my 200tdi Rangie Trayback, and spending money on running a V8 Disco :)
  1. Hi All, I've just got my hands on a 1999 300Tdi Disco Auto with cruise, and I've worked my way through the standard gremlins, all pipes now seal tight and the pump runs when connected to a battery. For the purpose of a trip next week, is there a way of rigging up a direct feed on a switch to the vacuum pump to make it work temporarily until I find the real cause of the issue? Cheers in advance
  2. I have the choice between a solid 1998 S reg 300tdi for £1500, or an early TD5 for around the 2k mark. This is going to be a weekend offroader, that can do trips to Wales etc. I have all the offroad bits on my 300tdi to transfer which would be easier but is the td5 that much better?? What would you guys go for???
  3. Afternoon all, My 1995 Disco 1 is coming up for its Mot in August, and the rust bug has truly bitten this year, as well as the master cylinder needing doing and various other things I think I'm going to break it and buy a D2. Firstly, what do u guys think of this plan? And secondly, as I have stell bumpers f+r, rocksliders, extended arches and other bits, what will bolt on to a D2?? Many thanks, any any thoughts will be much appreciated!
  4. Hi, thanks for that, am I right in saying I need to tap into the white/red for one side of the switch, then the other goes to the loom side of the black/orange? Cheers for your help
  5. Evening all I'm looking at installing a push button start in my 1995 300tdi disco, but unsure as to which wires are the right ones to splice into. Does anyone know which wires are which? Cheers in advance
  6. Evening all I've got a 1995 disco that has a distinct taste for the tin worm in the front inner wings, I'm based in redhill and don't have access to a welder. Is there anyone around locally that can weld that fancies a bit of weekend work cash in hand? The MOT is looming in August, and don't fancy garage prices! Any pointers much appreciated! Cheers guys
  7. I actually used the 14mm one for mine, with a bloody good whack to get it right the way on. Good luck!
  8. THEY WORKED!! Incredible bit of kit those irwins, I used some heat first and then the 14mm socket hammered on hard, and they came straight out! Thanks for everyone's help on this, highly recommend the irwins if you don't have a set! No onto the rather nasty bearings
  9. Thanks for your help guys, got my set of irwins today, bit of heat and a good go with them tomorrow and we'll see how we go!!
  10. I need the very same thing! I've been told irwin bolt grip kit does well, im buying a set tomorrow, I'll let you know how it goes!
  11. They used to be! Do those irwin bolt extractors work with 12 point bolts?
  12. Afternoon all, in the middle of doing all my bearings, and on the last corner the two caliper bolts are completely round! I haven't got a welder so weld a nut on, are there any ways people can think of of getting them out?? If anyone is around the redhill way and can help I'd be happy to give some cash in hand to get this done! Cheers in advance
  13. What ancillaries would they come with? Anything in the way of radius arms etc? Are you on portals now then?
  14. How recently have bearings etc been done? Ideally I think a standard replacement may be more in my price range as its only a weekend toy rather than a challenge truck but something to think about. Would def td5 fit straight onto disco 1?
  15. Evening all, I recently came back from a pay and play site wi two clicky CV's and a possible wheel bearing problem. Both m swivels are quite pitted as well. Would I replace whole axle or rebuild what I have?
