  1. Thanks Les yep iv'e had a good hard think and i will remove the manifold thats an awful lot of carbon being sucked into the bores who knows if it will ever get out of the valve seats without being trapped.
  2. I,m in the process of making the 300 running like a dream, i'm up to 36 mpg on a good run, with EGR blanked, K&N air filter fitted, the viscous fan is off at the moment and iv'e fitted Hyclones to it as well ,and yes there is a slight increase of ready power, i have just washed out the Intercooler ,but the inlet manifold looks like an encrusted coal mine, from the build up of fine oil from the turbo and old soot from the now blanked EGR ,is there any spray or alike that can be shot into the manifold without removing it cos at the moment i can't be asked to take it off. The next project is to Decat it and a straight through centre section and finally to fit a Fuel Cat and i know they work, my old series 2a run on unleaded for 3 yrs and its still going 6 yrs on..can anyone help.
  3. Ive had my Disco for 5 yrs now a great runner ,but a bugger to start ,only a couple of months into ownership i put on a new battery and ok for a while ,then the cold weather came and bosh carp startin' again, so i bought another and kept them both charged up, but once again they started to fail, so with that i cleaned all the charging circuit, had off all the earth straps, and checked the alternator, that was fine. put in new heater plugs and the effect was the same ,carp startin' So i lashed out and bought a Optima Red Top starter battery ,and since then not a problem , it will start without the heater plugs ' if i had done this earlier i could have saved myself the cost of two batteries and my time..
