So I've done quite a bit in the area of replacing engine parts, cosmetics, etc....but the one area I am not familiar with is electrical. I am looking to start wiring up some KC lights/worklights. I have a Series IIa with D90 underpinnings (LT77/LT230/D90 Axles), however I have the 2.5L milspec petrol engine with D90 alternator. So for the most part, I spend a lot of my time in the D90 forum.
WIth that said, can anyone direct me to any good threads involving proper wiring for lights, what to do...what not to do, etc. Do any of you run two batteries or just one? Do you recommend a certain type of alternator over another?
I have the 12v lucas style alternator and was wondering what type of power output I would need if I was to install two KC Ralleys, two Hella 550 driving lamps on my roof basket, and one rear worklamp? Also, I had a friend who made a relayed headlight kit that made his light output much brighter. Any advice on this?
Just looking for any information I can get my hands on. Take in mind, I'm looking for some beginner information as far as electrical wiring for the lights. I can't imagine its rocket science, but nothing is easy. I pick up quick on things so I need to do my reseach and study up on it as I have never worked in this area.
thanks!
Nick
