  1. Yes I to have put a 200tdi into my 109 and also thought that a Steve Parker would be a good investment until I came to fit it, yes it's well made and all fitting and was supplied . But I had same head scratching and after much moving bits about and assembling it on the drive, I rang them sorry having a problem "oh it will fit, we make them fit can you bring it round". Well like most projects it wasn't complete or drivable and it would be a 200 mile drive on the back of a trailer, so lets have another go, Extended front pipe 70mm then cut the tail pipe so I could rotate the silencer into the correct place, weld tail pipe. Not a straight bolt on fit, Rang Steve again and he told me well there are so many different combinations in the design by land rover that they could supply One that fits all, and alterations and modifications are required to fit these exhausts, also the tail section it standard land rover part. I was a bit miffed, Only from the point of view that if I had been informed that dependant on the engine and gearbox placement that any of the above would be necessary you are ready to make these adjustments to a £300 item. Yes I take on board every Land rover conversion is different, but a mate of mine asked me how I got on and after I told him he said that's funny as I had the same problem several years ago with a Steve Parker V8 exhaust, so next time I think I will get one made.
  2. This Journey starts with being offered a ex military 109 with a year’s mot, I’ve been away from land rovers for a few years and it was too good to say no. I Love it's character and it's fun to drive, but need it to be a bit more pocket friendly and have a little more grunt. I've have done a few miles in it, First to The New forest and lost the clutch slave cylinder on the way, We've just returned from the Lake District, but on the way lost a tyre then took a small detour fully loaded over hard knot pass with 1st gear going bang and giving up the ghost half way over it. Time to do some spanner work and make few changes on the way? As my last major project was to rebuild a 90 nad, then to buy a classic 3.9 and remove the engine and gearbox and put it into 90, then gas it, twin optima batteries, winch and split charger is this starting to sound familiar (don’t know when to stop) so fabrication isn’t a problem. But one thing I did learn is you must do your research, plan and do it once, the best way you can. I'll be back
