hi are you sure its the belt ? sounds like fuel pump failure (quite common)

found low compression on cylinder 2. could be (thinks) it is a burnt out exhaust valve, but could be crack in cylinder head or just head gasket. either way its pricey! hope your fault is cheaper.

found iac ok. going in tuesday to find out whats what. will tell you what they come back with.

same on mine (thread below) to see what ive changed. made no odds though. going to do idle control valve next for no other reason than a hunch and running out of ideas. let you know if it makes a difference.

could the problem be the idle air control valve seeing as it only happens on tickover ? do these fail regularly?

this might help with my problem (misfire when hot) could someone tell me where the brown one is?

now changed plugs, leads ,coils air filter and crank sensor all seem to make a difference for a while engine light now off but flashes when stuck in traffic and goes out again when you get moving.any other ideas?

hi all still having a misfire. changed plugs coils and air filter. plugged into a fault reader came up with po302 cyl 2 misfire, po313misfire empty tank think this means no fuel in cylinder. told probably the injector or crankshaft sensor. anyone know which is more likely to fail? or any other ideas appreciated.

do you really have to use platinum plugs in the 1.8 ? if not what have people used as an alternative ?

was having a play with the car and found one of the blank buttons on the side of the steering wheel (the one above fog lights) has wiring to it. anyone know where it goes?

hi all this isnt my freelander for a change its my nephews rover 400 but is the same engine. the car is jumping when cold ok when up to temp. any help appreciated

this light came on about a month or so ago but not everytime then it went away. came back on this morning. any ideas what is causing it? thanks in advance.

horn beeping usually meens the car thinks a window is open/ door not shut properly. the freelander alarm system is the same as the rover 200/400 which is rubbish and will probably sort itself out to the point where it wont go off if you pushed it off a cliff.

hi all. went to open boot today, window dropped but not enough to unlock boot. can push window down enough to open, and when you shut it window works as it should. with boot open, can push window down about an inch. any help appreciated.
