  1. The door catch may be loose, mine was, same symptoms, look on the edge of the door and there are 2 large headed 'torx' screws, 1 above and 1 below the catch. Check these for tightness.
  2. What's a relistic wading depth for a Freelander 1 Do you have to fit wading plugs anywhere as per a Defender or Disco
  3. I've decided on BFG ATs for my freelander. The worn out road tyres fitted at the mo are 215/65R16 I've had a look on the BFG web site and they only do 215/70 2 questions. Will they fit OK . Do all BFG tyres only have the white letters on one side. (IMHO the white letters showing looks a bit 'knobby')
  4. I know the question has been asked before but I’ve looked back through the forum and can’t find the answer that I need. What tyres? I have an ’06 TD4 Adventurer that needs new shoes. I’ve previously had 2 Discoveries and had BFG AT T/As fitted to both trucks. Very pleased with them on and off road and they never seemed to wear out. I was thinking of fitting BFGs to my Freelander. It’s currently wearing 215/65R16s do I swap for this size or go slightly larger for 225/70R16s. They only 10mm wider and I’ve worked out it’ll be around 17mm higher. The wheel arches should be able to cope. Couple of questions come to mind, road noise and MPG, will these increase? Is anyone else running these tyres or can you suggest an alternative.
  5. That's got to be something you don't hear every day, free from a main dealer
  6. I've just bought a 2006 TD4, it didn't come with a code for the radio. I phoned Hunters in Southampton, told them the reg and they gave me the code free of charge. You heard it right, free of charge. The bloke I spoke to might just have made it up of course, I won't know for sure until I need it
  7. That's for a FL2 mines an FL1 td4
  8. I've just bought a 2006 td4 3 door adventurer. It didn't come with a load space cover. I'd prefer a roller blind type but it doesn't have the fixings for one, was this an option on this model. I've also seen pictures of a parcel shelf was this also an option. Has anyone else got this model and can point me in the right direction?
  9. The relay that I found was the headlight switching relay not the dim dip relay. So it appears it is not the only relay eh!
  10. It says in the bible that some long haired bloke turned water into wine. I don't beleive that either.
  11. Oh yes they are!!!!!!! After many hours serching there's a switching relay located in the passenger footwell side panel. This was located and found to be faulty. Headlights work perfectly now. Experts eh!!!!
  12. Nope that wasn't it. The only earth point with 2 wires that I could find was down beside the air filter box. As I have a Safari snorkle the air box is difficult to get out. I manage to get the wires off and they didn't look too bad. With a long piece of wire I linked it to the battery negative to give it a good ground, didn't make any difference. I'd never have gotten the nut back on without removing the air box so I extended the wire and earthed it somewhere else. So the problem persists. Any other ideas?
  13. Exactly what does this relay do? If there was trouble with the earth wouldn't that effect the main beam as well.
  14. Where is the relay located on a 300 Tdi
