  1. I went to see it ,Absolutely amazing bodywork and chassis, totally rust free.Unfortunately it's had the dash taken out in haphazard fashion and the registration paperwork is a bit vague, plus i would need a flatbed to transport it in it's present condition.Still it was quite surreal having to search for corrosion on a landrover !

  2. I'm looking for a project and I've seen a 1991 D1 200tdi. It's an ex-french fire brigade incident control vehicle with only 68000kms ! Naturally I'm interested, the advert says that the heating block and the front driveshaft have been removed.Could a leaking heater box have led to fatal engine damage ?

I'm obviously ready to invest a bit but I'm looking for a project with a sound engine.

How can I tell the engine isn't a total dud without it running ? What should I look out for ?

  3. I'm considering a disco ,went and looked at one the other day noticed that the drivers side rear trailing arm was broken also the bracket holding the steering damper to the front anti roll bar was also broken.

What would be the consequences on other parts of the vehicule drive shaft e.t.c ?

Is it possible to drive a vehicule 40 miles with these parts defective ?

    cheers chaps.

  4. My 300tdi has 230000kms on the clock and i don't know if the clutch has ever been done,I wonder if there is any way to tell if it's been done maybe spanner marks on bolts or something,it does play on my mind .....along with at least 20 other things.

  5. I don't actually have access to the plug since I've put the pump back on the car.I was just interested to know if anyone had replaced it.It seems to be a syndrome with these pumps. I'm getting a bit paranoid at the thought of the plug popping out.I've been trawling the net and believe it or not some people have had success sealing the welch plug from the outside, maybe cleaning back to the bare alloy and then using a composite resin or 'liquid metal' type subtance.
